Description
Y&T’s “45 ANNIVERSARY TOUR” was a spectacular performance in Japan in January. The latest and best live album is now available. Their 45th anniversary tour started in Hawaii and Japan, but then moved to North America and is still running. Among them, this work is engraved with “March 6, 2019 Sellersville Performance”. First of all, let’s check the position from the overall picture of the world tour. ・January 8th – 13th: Hawaii/Japan (3 performances) ・January 25th + 26th: California #1 (2 performances) ・February 8th – March 23rd: North America #1 (20 performances) ← ★Coco★・April 6th-20th: North America #2 (4 performances)・June 21st + 22nd: California #2 (2 performances)・September 21st – October 26th: Europe (20 performances) ・October 30th – November 10th: UK (9 performances) This is the schedule of the “45 ANNIVERSARY TOUR” that has been announced so far. Although they hold a separate slot in their home base of California, they also tour North America. The Sellersville performance of this work was the 10th concert of such “North America #1”. The quality of this work, which recorded that show, is the best audience recording that you want to line up in a row, right? I’m sorry for suddenly becoming unreliable. In fact, since it is a master released by the recorder himself, it is definitely an audience recording, but no matter where you listen to it, it doesn’t seem that way. Not only does it have no sense of distance, it’s so immersive that it feels like the guitars and drums are playing inside your head, and the singing voice sounds like it’s being streamed into the microphone. Furthermore, the applause at the scene was far off. It feels so close that you’ll wonder if they even attached a microphone to the PA, but it doesn’t tremble at all even when you get close to the Fortissimo. If you were to do a blind test, you would definitely answer “Direct-to-the-table sound board!”, and maybe it was a recording by a person involved…? This is also an exquisite 45th anniversary show with a transcendental sound that makes you suspicious. In Japan, the set was changed for two days with “45th anniversary set (selected from all albums)” and “fan request”, but this work is a delicious combination of both. Just like the first day of the Japan performance “KAWASAKI 2019 1ST NIGHT”, this live show was selected from all albums from the YESTERDAY AND TODAY era to the latest “FACEMELTER”, condensing Y&T’s history from top to bottom in one show. It’s an album. Of course, that doesn’t mean it’s the same as “KAWASAKI 2019 1ST NIGHT.” In comparison, songs such as “Hard Times,” “Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark,” “Don’t Wanna Lose,” “Lipstick And Leather,” and “Straight Thru The Heart” have fallen, while “Lonely Side Of Town” and “Come In From The Rain,” “I Believe In You,” and “Go For The Throat.” “Go For The Throat” has particularly high points. It is a really cool selection, the B-side of the 1985 single “All American Boy,” and it is a hidden masterpiece that was not played at the Japanese performance. This was actually a request from a fan. In other words, this work is a “complete set” because it is the 45th anniversary, but it is also a show that responds to fan requests. It was a delicious show that condensed the 12 albums released in 45 years into one stage and even responded to the requests of maniacs. This is a live album where you can experience the whole story with a transcendent sound that can only be thought of as a sound board connected directly to a desk. The two consecutive performances in Japan, “KAWASAKI 2019 1ST NIGHT” and “KAWASAKI 2019 2ND NIGHT” were also outstanding, but I never expected that a masterpiece album that was as good as it would be received from overseas. This is a tour where you can enjoy the “45 ANNIVERSARY TOUR” in full swing, with even more ensembles than the Japanese performance.
