Description
Andy Powell, Martin Turner and Ted Turner. Introducing the best soundboard album containing the only performance in Japan with the golden front line. Even the first visit to Japan in 1975 was during the Rory Wisefield era, and the 1991 Japan tour brought dreams to Japan. What is included in this work is the “May 21, 1991 Club Citta Kawasaki” performance, which is the second day. First, let’s check the schedule at that time. May 20, 1991: Kawasaki CLUB CITTA May 21, 1991: Kawasaki CLUB CITTA [This work] May 23, 1991: Nagoya Bottom Line *Official “LIVE – TIMELINE” May 24, 1991: Osaka Am Hall As you can see, an official live album has been released for the Nagoya performance on the third day, but this work is a different Kawasaki performance. This is a soundboard recording that was also broadcast on FM at a certain public broadcasting station at the time. This live has already been released such as “REUNION LIVE 91”, but it is a master quality version with a different dimension. The sound is truly “official grade”. It’s such a perfect sound that you’ll want to just say this, with no noise or distortion, and not even a single cloud in its glossy smoothness. We are fully enjoying the benefits of venue acoustics and broadcast recording, which have improved significantly since the beginning of the 1990s, and there is absolutely no gap from corner to corner. It was perfect at the time of mastering, but we also applied the latest and meticulous digital mastering to pursue the three-dimensional sound and clear details. The balance has also been optimized for modern audio, raising it to the highest quality that would have been unheard of even on the broadcast itself at the time. The original trio’s performance in Japan, played out with that sound, brings back the sight of a dream come true. At the time, I was disappointed by the sudden retirement of original drummer Steve Upton from the music industry, but looking back, Ray Weston, who replaced him on the stool, supported WISHBONE ASH for 14 years (intermittently). person. Now that I know about his success with WISHBONE ASH, I am even happier to hear his powerful drumming. This work begins with the introduction of the members who call them such, and alternates between new songs from the reunion albums “STRANGE AFFAIR” and “HERE TO HEAR” and classics such as “ARGUS” and “PILGRIMAGE.” Of course, this program was edited and reconstructed from the on-site live performance, but by introducing the members at the beginning, it is clear that they accurately understand the significance of the live performance and the psychology of the fans. The song selection was not random, but focused on the first two songs, the middle three songs, and the three encore songs of the show. The live scene was more biased toward songs after the reunion, but while focusing on the classics that the fans wanted, consideration was given to keeping the flow of the show as small as possible. Normally, I wouldn’t think of including the guitar solo at the beginning of “Jaitbait” in the limited broadcast slot, but I’m grateful to the broadcast staff at the time for not cutting it out. And the new songs are also the original WISHBONE ASH stamp, with the golden twins of Andy and Ted intertwined with Martin’s bass. Of course, the vocal harmony is also filled with the resonance that can only be achieved by “those three people”, and all of it is poured into your ears from the finest soundboard. It feels like it’s playing in your ears, or even in your brain, directly inside your body. A scene from a dream that feels like it was yesterday. However, a quarter of a century has passed, and this night has become a page in history. A few months later, Martin left, and three years later, Ted left. The final brilliance of the sounds of three people who will never be together again, their voices mixing and intertwining. This is a live album that recorded it on the best soundboard. This photo captures the joy of the Japanese people who were able to enjoy this dream. Live at Club Citta, Kawasaki, Japan 21st May 1991 STEREO SBD(UPGRADE) (55:28) 1. Member Introduction 2.
