Description
“THE PURPLE TOUR” brought back the famous songs of the glorious 3rd and 4th period DEEP PURPLE to the present day, and shined like no other in the long history of the White Snake. A plus album vacuum-packed from the scene will be released. This work was recorded at “Hampton Beach Performance on July 22, 2015.” “THE PURPLE TOUR 2015” came to Japan in October, but it was the 14th performance of the tour, which was much earlier than that. This is a good opportunity, so let’s take a look back at the overview of the one and only Deep Purple Reproduction Tour. ・May 28th – August 16th: North America (47 performances) ←★Here★ ・October 20th – November 2nd: Japan (6 performances) ・November 8th – December 2nd: Europe (16 Performances) December 6th-19th: UK (10 performances) In total, 79 performances. You can understand how early the 14th performance of this work was. This work, which contains such a show, is a superb sound that deserves to be made into a press. The balance is well-proportioned, and the direct feel of the guitar is excellent. Above all, you can feel the whole thing clearly without any cracks or crushing like in this work. There were almost no well-balanced recordings until the Japan performance, and it was the first superb recording of “THE PURPLE TOUR 2015” and the best masterpiece of the “North American” tour. In particular, this tour received rave reviews for its clear sound, as there were many details to listen to, such as the cooking method of the DEEP PURPLE number and new members Joel Hoekstra and Michele Luppi. The latest WHITESNAKE, colored with such a sound, has a great enthusiasm that can only be seen in the early days of the tour. From the opening song “Burn”, the highlights are condensed. Reb Beach begins the guitar solo. Using his signature legato and tapping, he further enhances the speed of the familiar melody. Then, after a break, he switched to new member Joel. He also seems to be a tapping fan, and performed a melody that was completely different from the original, with a tone similar to that of a keyboard. Although the styles seem to be similar, the battle of guitars with different personalities is fun, and the exquisite arrangement that respects the image of the original song is wonderful. This kind of performance could be enjoyed in the official work “THE PURPLE TOUR”, but the next “Slide It In” is a number that cannot be heard even in the official version. In this “Slide It In”, Reb Beach’s guitar solo is very cool, and perhaps he was inspired by being promoted to Bangmas from this tour, and he listens to a wonderful solo that increases the feeling of elation several times. Furthermore, what cannot be heard on the official “THE PURPLE TOUR” is Doug Aldrich’s souvenir “Forevermore”. At that time, I was dazzled by the rush of PURPLE numbers and was easily carried away, but now it’s different. The set was dropped at the end of this “North American” tour, and it has not been played at all since. You can enjoy the precious take of the Doug era played by Rev & Joel with the best sound. However, the focus is still on the PURPLE number. The five PURPLE numbers include “Burn,” which I wrote earlier, as well as “The Gypsy,” “You Keep On Moving,” “Mistreated,” and “You Fool No One.” “The Gypsy” and “You Keep On Moving”, in which the choir plays the role of Glenn, are accompanied by a heavy vocal ensemble, and “You Fool No One”, in which Michael plays the blues harp at the beginning, is an early version of “Belgian Tom’s”. The fusion touch that brings to mind “Hat Trick” and “Free Flight” is also interesting. Each one of them is drawn with fresh momentum because it is the beginning of the tour. “THE PURPLE TOUR” revived the DEEP PURPLE tradition in 2015. It was a unique and special tour in the 40-year history of the White Snake. Both the Japanese performance and the official work were wonderful, but this enthusiasm was only at the beginning of the tour. Live at Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom, Hampton Beach, NH.
