Description
“THE PURPLE TOUR” was a unique and brilliant tour in the 21st century WHITESNAKE. Along with the self-cover album “THE PURPLE ALBUM”, it was a special tour that revived the historical masterpieces of the 3rd and 4th DEEP PURPLE in the present day. Unfortunately, the live record was still fresh in my memory as being of weaker quality than the usual tours, but here is a superb video that will clear up such regret! Currently, even “THE GREATEST HITS TOUR”, which is the next tour after “THE PURPLE TOUR”, has already ended. To be honest, the timing is also a good thing, but this work is still of the highest quality. It is the number 1 wonderful video work of “THE PURPLE TOUR” without question. This work was filmed at “December 2, 2015 Utrecht performance (Netherlands)”. Let’s take a look back at the whole picture of the monumental tour “THE PURPLE TOUR” once again.・May 28-August 16, 2015: North America (47 performances) {2 months later}・October 20-November 2, 2015: Japan (6 performances)・November 8-December 6, 2015: Europe (17 performances)←★Here★・December 7-19, 2015: UK (9 performances) A total of 79 performances. This work is an audience shot of the 16th performance of the “European leg” held after the Japanese performance. The greatest taste of this work is its intense quality. First of all, the field of view is astonishing. The “TivoliVredenburg” where the scene was set has a structure in which the audience seats surround the stage, and the 2nd and 3rd seats are quite angled. Although it has not been determined, it is likely that the photo was taken from the second floor, and the show is completely recorded at an angle slightly to the right of the front of the stage (closer to Reb Beach). And the field of view is completely occupied by the white snake. They were probably in the front row of the second floor seats, but the shadows of the arms and heads of the people in the front row are not visible for even a moment. In fact, even when the camera pulls back, the audience in the first floor seats are hardly visible. The angled venue is narrow in terms of land area, so even the second floor seats are close to the stage. The field of view, which maximizes the flavor, spreads across the entire screen. Furthermore, the camera work is also excellent. Perhaps it is using a tripod, but it is abnormally stable and there is not even a trace of camera shake. With that sense of stability, bold zooms are also used frequently, thoroughly pursuing the highlights of each member. Moreover, when changing the highlight, they pull back once and return to the full view, then aim and zoom again. This “one extra step” prevents blurring and allows you to grasp the image of the entire stage. The skilled skill of the camera, who has a firm understanding of this, shines through. Furthermore, the essential image quality and sound quality are also superb. In addition to the clear sound with zero obstructions, the super vivid image quality of modern digital equipment makes it possible to see the beauty of the image, from each guitar string to the grain of the fingerboard, when zoomed in. However, it’s amazing because it’s not just that. While boasting extremely modern vividness in both edges and coloring, the color has a slight film-like luster, which gives it an indescribable elegance. Fiercely clear and lustrous colors, and a stable viewpoint without an audience… that’s the beauty of the image, like one angle of a professional shot or a camera set up at the venue. “THE PURPLE TOUR” depicted in such a scene is also the best. 21st century WHITESNAKE has basically been based on the Geffen era, but here there are plenty of glorious PURPLE numbers. “Burn”, “The Gypsy”, “You Keep On Moving”, “Mistreated”, “You Fool No One”, and “Soldier Of Fortune”. The heavy metallic Geffen era is great, but it’s also moving to see the traditional super masterpieces revived in the 21st century. Coverdale, who usually gets tougher as the tour progresses, also exudes a deep purple flavor. It’s a shame that “Stormbringer”, which was performed at the Japan concert, is not there, but instead they do “Bad Boys”, which was only heard at the Tokyo concert, and above all, they sing “Ain’t No Love In The Heart Of The City”, which is very European. And the members who support Coverdale are also good. Tommy Aldridge is clearly different from the other videos. Because it is a top-down perspective, you can see how he hits, and his “showman drummer style” that shows off with each hit is fierce. Also, as I have written many times before, the team of Reb Beach and Joel Hoekstra has excellent sense and chemistry. In particular, the guitar solo time where the two take turns playing is amazing. Rather than simply showing off their skills, the mood is beautiful and fantastical. Both of them are good at tapping, but their color-coded personalities shine, and yet their worldviews flow seamlessly. Moreover, the lighting in this scene is also extremely beautiful, with the light beams dancing vigorously to Joel’s classical phrases, and they are in the center of the stage. How cool… The two guitarists alone are a sight to behold, but the biggest highlight of this work is the other guitarist. Adrian Vandenberg will appear as a special guest for the Dutch performance. He appears in “Here I Go Again” and plays “that solo” with the awesomeness of an originator. Adrian, who had already returned to the rock scene with VANDENBERG’S MOONKINGS, has not had a single blank feeling, and he will also perform a triple guitar version of the following “Still Of The Night”. The spectacle of three tall guitarists lined up! The best video of “THE PURPLE TOUR” that came out late. It is a masterpiece that imprints “21st century PURPLE number” on your eyes with a visual beauty that can be called “luxurious quality”. It vividly evokes memories of the Japanese performance and even allows you to witness a precious re-performance with Adrian. We will deliver it to you this weekend.
