WHITESNAKE’s 2013 was truly the “Year Of The Snake” with the release of a series of official live albums, a performance in Japan in May, and more. The definitive live video to mark the end of the year has been confirmed! This work captures the Brazilian version of the “Monsters of Rock” festival, where WHITESNAKE appeared on October 20, 2013, with official multi-camera pro shots of both image and sound quality, and is undoubtedly a must-see and must-have for all WHITESNAKE fans! The “Monsters of Rock” festival is a name that any heavy metal/hard rock fan will be familiar with. It began in 1980 with RAINBOW as the headliner, and has been headlined by bands that represent the time, such as AC/DC and OZZY OSBOURNE, who have left behind great performances that represent their respective careers (WHITESNAKE has been the headliner multiple times, alongside IRON MAIDEN, when the festival was held in the UK). The traditional name “Monsters of Rock” has been passed down mainly in South America since the 1990s, and has been held in Argentina and Chile. In 2008, it was held in Chile in April and in Spain in July, and even now, when festivals have diversified, it still has an important position in the overseas rock scene. And in October 2013, the traditional festival was revived in Sao Paulo, Brazil for the first time in five years. This time, it was held for two days, and on the first day, October 19th, SLIPKNOT, KORN, and LIMP BIZKIT appeared, and on the 20th, AEROSMITH was the headliner, and RATT and DOKKEN appeared. This work records the live performance of WHITESNAKE, who played a semi-headliner role on the stage on October 20th, which is the second day, with official multi-camera pro shots using a broadcast master! The second half of the live is short, about 30 minutes long, with 5 tracks, but the quality is astonishing! This DVD includes songs that were not seen in the official video work “MADE IN JAPAN” released in April this year, and you can enjoy the climax of the 2013 WHITESNAKE live show with a definite satisfaction and satisfaction! The live show on the day started with “Give Me All Your Love” and “Ready An’ Willing”, just like the Japan tour in May. Unfortunately, the first half to the middle part of the live show was not used on local TV, and this master recording starts with “Bad Boys”. Tommy Aldridge, who has been playing this song since 1987, fits this song with an original naturalness that is different from the previous members. Together with Doug and Reb’s guitars, the scene builds up to a climax, and the phrases pile up. The final part, where they all explode at once and avalanche into the ending, is the best no matter how many times you watch it. And for the encore, Coverdale sings an emotional solo on “Soldier Of Fortune,” and then moves on to the exciting “Burn”! This “Burn” includes “Stormbringer”, a familiar track from 2004, and the live performance reaches its peak as it races straight to the ending! It’s unfortunate that the recording time is short, but on the other hand, the very focused content is a strong point. Three songs from “SERPENS ALBUS”, the masterpiece that defined WHITESNAKE today, and two (actually three) songs from DEEP PURPLE, which Coverdale released, are reproduced with the band’s current sound… a perfect selection for festivals that will get everyone excited without question.
