Description
This is a wonderful live recording of Weather Report. Weather is famous for Jaco Pastorius, but Milosolov Vitous was the original bassist. It’s jazz rock, which is completely different from the pop fusion sound of the Jaco era. It’s more like electric Miles. That’s only natural, as Wayne Shorter and Joe Zawinul started Weather Report after experiencing electric music under Miles and trying to make it happen. The set list includes “DIRECTIONS,” “IN A SILENT WAY,” and “IT’S ABOUT THAT TIME,” which are also familiar to electric Miles. And the best part is Zawinul’s original “BOOGIE WOOGIE WALTZ,” which is super cool. The sound quality is mastered from the 2022 broadcast source. There was a lot of hiss, but it was improved by careful noise reduction, and even beginners can enjoy it with confidence. It goes without saying that fans of jazz rock will enjoy this, but fans of Miles’ electric era are also sure to enjoy it.
