Description
In May 2015, Wayne Shorter and the Lincoln Center All Stars led by Wynton Marsalis performed together for three consecutive days at the Jazz Hall of Fame Lincoln Center in New York. All recorded in official quality sound to the delight of Shorter fans. The live sound source was released as a 6-disc set. Shorter’s impromptu saxophone improvisations were performed in different versions throughout the three days of the live performance, and you can truly feel the spirit of Shorter, who is said to be “the most charismatic of modern jazz,” in this live performance. The main feature of this New York performance is the reproduction of the title song from Miles’ album “ESP” released in 1965. Like a fish out of water, Winton’s trumpet responds with phrases reminiscent of his heyday, pulled by Shorter’s enthusiasm. Please listen to Shorter’s sweet and gentle saxophone and the violent and angry saxophone!
