Description

“LIVE AID” is the largest music event in human history. The ultimate soundboard album is now available in a 3-piece series! [First-ever complete live album of 15 discs] You can almost hear the voice saying “LIVE AID again?”, but this time I can only say that it is “ultimate”. After all, it is a complete recording of the British BBC broadcast that broadcast almost all the songs played at that huge event. You can experience the performance that could not be heard even on the official DVD, which has been significantly deleted, or on the Japanese broadcasting, which is full of cuts, on the finest stereo soundboard without leaking to the maximum. It is a transcendent volume of 15 discs for the first time in history!! Moreover, it is not only the volume. The FM version of the British BBC has a reputation as the best of all “LIVE AID” broadcasts. Although it has not yet been fully verified due to its long history, it is said that it is not only better than the TV version, but can even surpass the official DVD depending on the scene/artist. In fact, the highest version of the official pro shot of the QUEEN edition has been replaced with FM audio by enthusiasts (however, the US JFK edition via satellite is slightly inferior). [The most delicious first of the three works in the series] This is the BBC broadcast version, which has excellent volume and quality, but since it is impossible to make a set of 15 CDs, it will be released separately as a “5-disc set x 3 titles”. This work is the first installment. This broadcast was broadcast live while traveling back and forth between Wembley Stadium in the UK and JFK Stadium in the US. This first volume features 21 bands/artists (+8 overseas). It’s a bit long, but let’s summarize the contents of the first part. ○20:01/STATUS QUO (3 songs in total) ○20:19/THE STYLE COUNCIL (4 songs in total) ○20:44/THE BOOMTOWN RATS (3 songs in total) ○21:01/ADAM ANT (1 song in total) *Not broadcast in Japan ○21:17/ULTRAVOX (4 songs in total) ← [DISC 2 from here] ○21:46/SPANDAU BALLET (3 songs in total)★22:01/Joan Baez (2 songs in total) ○22: 07/Elvis Costello (1 song in total) ★22:10/THE HOOTERS (2 songs in total) *Not broadcast in Japan ← [DISC 3 from here] ○22:22/Nick Kershaw (4 songs in total) *Not broadcast in Japan Broadcast ★22:32/FOUR TOPS (5 songs in total) ★22:45/Billy Ocean (2 songs in total) ○22:53/SADE (3 songs in total) *Not broadcast in Japan ← [DISC 4 from here] ★22 :55/BLACK SABBATH (3 songs in total) ★23:12/RUN–D.M.C. (1 song) *Not broadcast in Japan○23:18/Sting & Phil Collins (7 songs in total) ★23:27/Rick Springfield (3 songs in total) *Not broadcast in Japan ← [DISC 5 from here] ★23:47/REO SPEEDWAGON (2 songs in total) ○23:49/Howard Jones (1 song in total) *Not broadcast in Japan ○0:08/ Bryan Ferry with Dave Gilmour (4 songs in total) ★0:12/CROSBY, STILLS & NASH (3 songs in total) *Not broadcast in Japan ・Note: “○” mark is Wembley Stadium in the UK, “★” is JFK in the US stadium. The numbers are the start times converted to Japan time. …and it looks like this. Only RUN-D.M.C.’s “King of Rock” is missing because it was not broadcast, but all the other songs that were played on that day are recorded (this is the only song missing in the 15-disc set). Of course, due to broadcasting, there are some songs that don’t have an intro or ending, or have the MC cover them, but on the official DVD, you can listen to not only FOUR TOPS and Billy Ocean, which were completely cut, but also all the artists to the fullest. Of course, the level is completely different from that of Japan Broadcasting, which was in shambles. Moreover, this work is the best among the three titles. It includes eight artists who have not yet been broadcast in Japan, and there are also plenty of overseas broadcasts inserted in the middle. Let’s sort that out here too. ・Australia “OZ FOR AFRICA”: INXS (2 songs) / DRAGON (1 song) / MEN AT WORK (1 song) / LITTLE RIVER BAND (1 song) / GOANNA (1 song) ・Relay in the Netherlands: B.B. King (3 songs) ) – Yugoslavia broadcast: YU ROCK MISIJA (1 song) – Soviet Union broadcast: AUTOGRAPH (3 songs) Among these, “OZ FOR AFRICA” is fulfilling in both quality and quantity. This is the Australian version of “LIVE AID” which was held on the same “July 13th” as in the UK and the US. Due to the time difference, the performance started half a day earlier, but this stage could be called a “third venue.” From there, six songs are inserted even though it is a digest. It also introduces Yugoslav and Moscow rock. “LIVE AID” was by no means a festival limited to the UK and the US, but a global concert. You can even feel the scale of it. It is a great cultural heritage of popular music produced by the BBC, which is different from the boring Japan Broadcasting System (although it was interesting at times).
