Description
QUEEN’s “LIVE AID” became the biggest record hit of 2018. The on-site commentary by the famous Kinney has been greeted with shock, and has even caused abnormal phenomena that even restock after restock cannot keep up with. However, even that highly talked-about work was just the beginning. Yes, Kinney’s staff who were present at “July 13, 1985 Wembley Stadium” were also recording artists other than QUEEN. This work also includes such “other than the QUEEN edition”. A miraculous audience recording that conveys the legendary scene for 2 hours 6 minutes 54 seconds, including QUEEN. Of course, it is a super shocking work that will be released for the first time in the world. The nine groups are U2, DIRE STRAITS, QUEEN (daytime), DAVID BOWIE, THE WHO, ELTON JOHN, FREDDIE MERCURY & BRIAN MAY (night), PAUL McCARTNEY, and the all-star BAND AID. We will give you a 100% real experience of the most important stage at Wembley Stadium. Now, let’s introduce each band/musician’s stage individually. [Disc 1: U2 (17:19 appearance)] Kinney Tape started with U2, who was the 14th group on the day. From the moment of regeneration, I had a strong feeling that a miracle was about to happen. First of all, the sound is amazing, and you can’t believe it’s an 80’s audience. If you have listened to the QUEEN edition, you will know that the clarity is hard to believe in a huge stadium, and the balance is such that the band sound plays the leading role while absorbing the excitement. The magic sound that can be said to be the essence of Kinney, that sound world is fully open from the beginning. And the show is also miraculous. There are two songs, “Sunday Bloody Sunday” and “Bad”, but the most shocking one is “Bad”. The 13-minute performance included fragments of famous songs such as “Satellite of Love,” “Ruby Tuesday,” “Sympathy for the Devil,” and “Walk on the Wild Side.” In the midst of this, a sudden scream-like rumbling occurs. In fact, this scene is the moment when Bono selects an audience member and invites him to the stage, and when he can’t get up, he can’t wait and goes down to the audience seats. Even in the professional shot video, the loud cheers sounded like ripples, but this work is in the midst of those voices happening. You can clearly see the moments when they hug, dance, and kiss the cheeks of the invited audience members, and you can also see that the ripples of excitement were actually the screams and applause of each person. And the sing-along with 72,000 people after Bono warmed their hearts was beautiful. It was an impressive scene even in the professional shots, but the emotion felt on set was even bigger and deeper. You can experience it on-site. [Disc 1: DIRE STRAITS (18:00 appearance)] Next up is DIRE STRAITS, who became a household name with their record-breaking hit “BROTHERS IN ARMS.” He performed two songs, “Money For Nothing” and “Sultans Of Swing,” and the former was performed with Sting, just like on the album. The amazing thing here is the climax. Although there are no screams or roars, the clapping that occurs with the intro of each song is amazing. Even though you can clearly get a sense of the scale of 72,000 people, the synchronization rate is like that of a hall class. His concentration was such that I thought there was not a single person listening in the sink. I could see in the pro shot video that Mark Knopfler’s guitar and the ensemble in full swing are amazing, but this work will be dull until the audience’s groove greets it. However, as the song progresses, he loses concentration and starts talking (bitter smile), which is also realistic. [Disc 1: QUEEN (18:41 appearance)] And at the end of Disc 1 is QUEEN who caused a miracle. This work is also fully recorded. Many of you already know this part, so I will omit it, but if you experience that moving stage in the flow of the event, it will be even more poignant. This is a miracle among miracles that you should enjoy without skipping. [Disc 2: David Bowie (19:23 appearance)] Disc 2 instead is from David Bowie. The song that plays at the beginning is the single “Dancing In The Street” that he co-starred with Mick Jagger for LIVE AID. This is not a live performance, but a PV is played on a screen at the venue. Just when I thought, “What kind of PV is this?”, I was surprised by the enthusiasm of 72,000 people. Sing along to the PV and receive a storm of applause and whistles. This is actually a great document as well. And then Bowie appears. I thought it would be difficult to do this after QUEEN’s miracle, but it turns out she has rare charisma. It excited 72,000 people. The thunderous clapping never seemed to slow down, and the loud choruses of “Rebel! rebel!” and “But I try I try” were thick and gigantic. And whistles continue to blow from all over the Wembley pot. And then there’s the highlight, “Heroes,” where 144,000 hands become a rhythm section… Inheriting the miracle of QUEEN, you can experience how the pot was kept boiling with a sense of reality from the audience’s seats. [Disc 2: THE WHO (19:59 appearance)] The boil turns into an explosion once again with the British hero THE WHO. This is also a special One Time Only reunion concert for the first time in three years. At the beginning, it took some time to set up and it was difficult to start, but even in the midst of that, the excitement was great. Then, as soon as the intro of “My Generation” started playing, it exploded. And then there was the incredible chorus of “Sure play a mean pinball!!” that the entire Wembley pot came together as one… There’s a phrase that goes, “enthusiasm that blows the roof off”, and it’s great that Wembley Stadium is an open space. Even though it has been over 8 hours since the noon STATUS QUO, the physical strength of the British people is at its bottom. After the second half of “Love, Reign O’er Me,” things calmed down a bit, so it wasn’t as miraculous as QUEEN… But then, around the last two minutes of “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” Roger Daltrey’s roar came. Recover in one shot. The excitement accelerates rapidly, and the show shows off a powerful feat that reaches a grand finale. This major reversal was also the reality of the scene, which could not be seen in the professional shot footage. It is Kinney’s treasure that allows you to feel the atmosphere at the scene that was flowing at LIVE AID. [Disc 2: Elton John (20:50 appearance)] Next up was Elton John, who declared defeat by the members of QUEEN, saying, “I was eaten.” In fact, what you can feel here is the realism of the recording. Elton played six songs along with QUEEN, but the only thing left for Kinney’s staff was “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me”, which he co-starred with the two of WHAM!. Although it is a complete guess, there are still Paul McCartney and BAND AID left, and it was probably because they were concerned about the remaining tape capacity. In fact, there was a scene where a squealing sound was about to start for a moment, and I cried and pressed the stop button…the difficult decision I had to make was clear. Although it is extremely disappointing for us 33 years later, this is also a reality that happened on site. It is one of the realities of audience recording. Even in such difficult times, it was George Michael who made it impossible not to record. And Kinney was right to resume recording with his appearance. His overwhelming singing voice is so great that it even rivals Freddy’s miraculous performance. Of course, the wonderful vocalization could be enjoyed even in professional shots, but this work even has a resonant spectacle and is accompanied by a chorus team of tens of thousands. The thick, thick chorus that could only be heard slightly during the chorus in the pro shot was actually quite spectacular. And then there’s George, who is divinely able to command the huge crowd with just his singing voice. The sound board audio that I have listened to for many years did not convey even 1/100 of its true charm. We can finally discover the truth. [Disc 2: Freddie Mercury & Brian May (appearance 21:48)] The two QUEEN returned to Wembley, where they once again experienced a miraculous moment. The discovery was delayed because the tapes were separated, but the night’s “Is This The World We Created?” was also recorded. This is another valuable and wonderful song. On the broadcast soundboard of this song, the voices of the staff were mixed in and it was ridiculous, but on the spot you can hear plenty of wonderful singing voices without any problems. You can enjoy the continuation of the miracle without being disturbed by that broadcasting accident. [Disc 2: Paul McCartney (21:51 appearance)] Paul McCartney follows seamlessly from Freddie & Brian. It was a big favorite at the event, but this was also the highlight of the highlights. A Freddie & Brian staff member accidentally pulled out the microphone, resulting in a situation where Paul’s singing voice could not be heard at all. The problem was resolved in about two minutes, and the scene that erupted into loud cheers was recorded on TV. However, the scene was even more amazing. In fact, the audience, sensing trouble (for a moment, you can even hear the voice of what appeared to be Kinney staff saying, “What’s wrong?”) began to sing in unison. This is just too wonderful. A sea of warm singing voices spread out as if to encourage Paul as he struggled alone on stage. The beautiful ocean turns into a huge wave of joy as soon as Paul’s microphone returns. Then, it blends with Paul’s voice and spins the melody of “Let It Be”… Come to think of it, Paul had been away from the stage for five years since Wings’ last show in 1979. The people gathered at the scene were looking forward to his resurrection. That feeling firmly supported Paul, who was unable to hear the voices of his plight. This is the truth that was not clear even on the live broadcast of the day, let alone the official DVD with overdubbed vocals. That scene looked painful, but it was actually a warmer two minutes than any other stage. It is a miraculous audience record that tells us the truth 33 years later. [Disc 2: BAND AID (appearance: 21:57)] The joy continues with the last song, BAND AID’s “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” This is also as wonderful as Paul’s stage. The moving performance by the entire cast is familiar from the pro shots, and the lively crowd and loud chorus were also seen there. However, the gigantic spectacle of this work is on a completely different level. The chorus of 72,000 people plays the leading role, and the chorus spreads loud and loud, overshadowing even the gorgeous stars. Moreover, the true unknown highlight came after the song ended. For a while, the musicians’ greetings were met with applause, but suddenly the chorus returned. Once again, the huge ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ will fill Wembley. It’s a dream that I can’t wake up from even after 10 hours. A beautiful chorus that overflows with joy. This is the true highlight that cannot be known even on the official DVD or broadcast pro shot. Kinney recording of LIVE AID which caused a shock with the miraculous QUEEN edition. However, its true splendor and true highlights were still unknown. Even that wonderful QUEEN was just a prologue, and the truth of LIVE AID is here. True emotion that could be left because it was an audience recording.
