Description
“FARM AID” is a traditional charity concert that continues to this day. A professional shot masterpiece featuring that memorable first episode is now available. “FARM AID” is a charity event planned by Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, and Neil Young to support farmers suffering from financial difficulties. It is still held every year as one of America’s leading music festivals. The historic first game was held at Memorial Stadium on September 22, 1985. Speaking of 1985, the music scene was in the midst of a charity boom, and “LIVE AID”, the biggest music event of the 20th century, was also held in 1985. “FARM AID” started two months after that big event. This work is a professional shot of the TV broadcast of such a historical event. As many as 56 bands/musicians performed on that day, and this work is a DVD version of a digest program featuring 20 bands. However, even though it is a digest, the broadcast volume of 62 songs exceeds 4 hours. This work is a 4-disc set that compiles the valuable air check master divided into approximately 1 hour each. Now, let’s take a look at the artists and highlights of each disc. [DISC 1: The early stages of the battle between the young and future greats (5 groups, 14 songs)] The first disc is the early stages when the sun is still high. Five groups will appear: BON JOVI, X, Brian Setzer, FOREIGNER, and Charlie Daniels. The highlights are the heyday of FOREIGNER from the “AGENT PROVOCATEUR” era and the veteran Daniels, but what’s even more delicious is the “youth on sale” slot of the first three groups. After all, from a top batter’s perspective, it would be a shame if BON JOVI from the 7800° FAHRENHEIT era was dazzling. It’s not a show-off with big hit songs that everyone knows like after “SLIPPERY WHEN WET,” but they run around with all their might and get excited. The appearance is truly “SUPER ROCK ’84”. They sing two songs, “Runaway” and “Heart of America,” the latter of which is a super rare song that has only been played on this day before and after. In that sense, it is an opening that is definitely a must-see (also, although this work is basically of the highest quality, tracking noise is a little noticeable in this BON JOVI edition. It will stabilize after that, so please don’t get discouraged here). Another must-see is Brian Setzer. The previous year, STRAY CATS ceased their activities and became independent as a solo artist, but at the time of “FARM AID”, “THE KNIFE FEELS LIKE JUSTICE” had not yet been released. On the contrary, you can see professional shots of his fresh performance at the beginning of his career, when he only appeared on stage a few times as a solo artist. Oh, by the way, “X” that appears between the two is a punk band that has nothing to do with Japanese metal bands. [DISC 2: A mid-round battle featuring big names about to enter the Hall of Fame (6 groups, 18 songs)] From the second disc, the feeling of being a big name suddenly increases. There is a lineup of famous solo artists such as Bonnie Raitt, Rickie Lee Jones, Lou Reed, Roy Orbison, B.B. King, Carole King… In particular, Orbison, who died in 1988, and B.B. King, who was in the “SIX SILVER STRINGS” era, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame two years later. Although you can’t expect to see the momentum of sales or extremely rare co-stars, you can fully enjoy the majestic performances of the big names who have already built their reputations and show no signs of slowing down. [DISC 3: The second half (4 groups, 12 songs) featuring Fogarty and Mellencamp in their prime] In DISC 3, the darkness rapidly deepens with each song, and the main acts finally appear. The four groups are John Fogerty, Randy Newman, the organizer Neil Young, and John Mellencamp. When it comes to this area, it’s not just famous big fish, it’s delicious because it’s currently (at the time) exciting and in season. For example, Fogerty’s “CENTERFIELD” is a huge hit reaching number 1 in the US, and Mellencamp is in the midst of running up to number 2 in the US in the month following the release of “SCARECROW”. Although it wasn’t a chart hit, Newman won a Grammy Award for the soundtrack for the movie “The Natural.” The passionate performance, supported by the enthusiasm that comes with being a popular artist, is amazing. This work is not only spectacular for each song, but also for the “sense of the era of festivals created by the lineup”. [DISC 4: Highlights from the historic first collaboration (5 groups, 18 songs)] The final DISC 4, as the sun sets, is truly the highlight of a major event. Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Sammy Hagar, Joni Mitchell, and Don Henley will appear. Tom Petty of “SOUTHERN ACCENTS” and Don Henley, whose “BUILDING THE PERFECT BEAST” is a big hit, are also in full force here. However, even more delicious than that is the historic first collaboration stage in history. First up, Dylan. I asked Tom Petty & THE HEARTBREAKERS to back me up, and this was my first time co-starring with them. It is a historical stage that will lead to subsequent tours and the launch of TRAVELING WILBURYS. Even more historic is Sammy Hagar. The lead guitar player here is Eddie Van Halen. Sammy joined VAN HALEN this year, and “FARM AID” was their first collaboration. Sammy & Eddie continued to take No. 1 in the United States for 10 years after that, and they are performing with great enthusiasm that predicts their glory. This is a historical professional shot masterpiece spanning 20 groups, 62 songs, and 4 hours, 9 minutes, and 45 seconds. Perhaps because it has become an annual event, it didn’t have as much of an impact as “LIVE AID,” but it was a super luxurious event that didn’t take a step back. A historical 4-disc set that lets you fully enjoy its special essence. Multi-camera pro shot of the “1st FARM AID” held at “September 22, 1985 Memorial Stadium”. It is a 4-hour TV broadcast pro shot featuring 20 of the performing artists, and the contents are as gorgeous as “LIVE AID.” A history of the young BON JOVI, the recently independent Brian Setzer, John Fogerty and John Mellencamp in their heyday, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan, who collaborated for the first time, Sammy Hagar and Eddie Van Halen, etc. This is a super-parallel masterpiece packed with exciting stages.
