Description
This is a satellite broadcast video recording the highlights of the second “Crossroads Guitar Festival”, which was held three years after the first festival in 2004. After the first event was a great success, Eric Clapton wanted to put more spotlight on the minor guitarists he respected, and decided to make this event a regular event. Like last time, I spoke to senior black blues guitarists and white blues guitarists from the same generation, and this time I will be speaking with former The Band member Robbie Robertson, who can be called a lifelong friend, and an ally who once formed Blind Faith. I invited Steve Winwood (of course my long-time friend Jeff Beck also appeared). The collaboration with Robbie is reminiscent of “The Last Waltz” in 1976, and the collaboration with Steve is exactly reminiscent of Blind Faith. Regarding Clapton, the biggest topic was co-starring with the two. Elsewhere, Derek Trucks, the young No. 1 slide guitarist who joined the Clapton Band the previous year and toured with them around the world, is featured. One of the highlights is the collaboration of old and new slide guitar masters between him and Johnny Winter, and the collaboration of old and new country guitarists Willie Nelson and Vince Gill and Albert Lee. The common language of music is wonderfully breaking down generational barriers. The appearance of this kind of scene is probably the best part of this festival. The scene where Clapton supports his former lover Sheryl Crow on the guitar is also heartwarming. As a side note, Bill Murray is originally an American actor, but apparently this was the first time he appeared on stage playing the guitar. Even in this episode, you can see the dignified appearances of B.B. King and Hubert Sumlin, who were still alive and well. Toyota Park, Bridgeview, Illinois, USA 28th July 2007 PRO-SHOT 1.
