Description

Although it was officially released once in the mid-80s, the long-awaited DVD release of a collection of Motown-related videos, which was shelved due to the large number of performers and the location of the copyrights afterwards! First, the legendary Ready Steady Go, who performed with his troupe during the UK tour in 1965, which was a huge success. His Dusty Springfield was involved in the planning and composition of the tour, which suggests that Motown’s popularity at that time was overwhelmingly greater in Swingin’ London than in the UK. At that time, the Supremes were just about to break through, and Diana Ross’s name had not yet been attached to the group, and the main attractions were Smokey and Marvin. Stevie was 14 years old at the time! Next, the 25th anniversary concert of Motown’s founding in 1983, which many people have been clamoring for a DVD release! It was a very emotional event for Berry Gordy, held at a time when the company was in turmoil due to the label’s acquisition issue from MCA, and it was the largest concert in black music, with all the big stars from Motown gathered together. The video is especially famous for Michael Jackson’s one-night reunion of the Jackson Five. The bonus footage includes excerpts of Motown-related footage from the event held in 1985 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo Theater. Many of the singers are no longer with us, making this a truly moving collection of footage. A total of four hours that can truly be called the Best of Motown!-The History Of The Sound Of Young America- Contains: “Motortown Revue UK Tour 1965”, “Motown 25th Anniversary” & “Apollo 50th Anniversary (Collector’s DVD) (Disc 1) [“Ready Steady Go!” On Rediffusion TV, London, UK 18th March 1965] (B/W) 01.Introduction / 02.Medley: (Baby Love [The Supremes]~You’ve Really Got A Hold On Me [Smokey Robinson & The Miracles]~I Call It Pretty Music But The Old People Call It The Blues [Stevie Wonder]~The Way You Do The Things You Do [The Temptations]~(Love Is Like A) Heatwave [Martha Reeves & The Vandellas]~You Lost The Sweetest Boy [Dusty Springfield] / 03.Ooo Baby Baby [Smokey Robinson & The Miracles] / 04.
