Description
Adrian Vandenberg established his reputation with his own leader band VANDENBERG before joining WHITESNAKE. Although they were based on European lyricism, they also had an Americanized personality in a good way, and although they were active in the 1980s hard rock/heavy metal scene, they left a vivid impression on fans despite their short period of activity. The best VANDENBERG collector’s item is here! From the first performance in Japan in 1984, centering on the complete version of the June 20th Nakano Sunplaza performance on the second day in Tokyo, the classic 1983 Houston long soundboard, as well as the predecessor band “TEASER”. This is an absolute must-have that will leave fans in tears, with everything including the precious single take recorded on two CDs in stereo soundboard sound source! They burst onto the scene with the release of “VANDENBERG” (Japanese title “Netherland Myth”) in 1982, and had a hit single, “Burning Heart,” as well as the results of an energetic tour in the United States and the United Kingdom. Immediately after their debut, they gained a loyal following and received high praise. Their 2nd album “HEADING FOR A STORM” released in 1983, which carried the momentum of their 1st album, became a masterpiece with an emphasis on European dampness and a crying melody. Their popularity increased in Japan as well, and in June 1984 they released Realized the first Japan tour. In addition to live performances in Osaka and Nagoya, this performance in Japan was held as Tokyo 4 Days from the 19th to the 22nd, which is unusual for a new face band. Their Tokyo performance on June 21st at Shibuya Public Hall has been made into an official video, and has already become familiar to fans. Furthermore, the opening day performance at Nakano Samp Plaza Plaza on the 19th is known as the Power Gate label’s masterpiece “HEADING FOR THE EAST,” and the final performance on the 22nd in Shinjuku also features “LOST IN A CITY.” The sound source situation is very good. However, the only thing that is unsatisfactory is the sound source on the 20th (second day at Nakano Sunplaza). On this day, there was a previous release from the BONDAGE label with excellent sound quality called “ROLL THRU THE NIGHT,” but the number of songs recorded is small and the title is almost 15 years old and is currently difficult to obtain. The situation continued where I couldn’t listen even if I wanted to. This work is the decisive blow to end that situation! It is a recording of the entire live performance from a digital line master leaked by a person involved that has not been distributed anywhere, and the official quality sound that even surpasses the official video on the 21st is amazing! Adrian’s raw and realistic play will overwhelm any fan and bring them to tears. The siren and bomber S.E. that announce the start of the live performance are already a perfect soundboard. The listener is completely engrossed in the band’s performance in the first half, where the opening narration begins with “Ready For You”, “Back On My Feet”, and “Your Love Is In Vain”, three successive 1st songs. You’ll be completely immersed in it. In addition to Adrian’s dramatic and sensational guitar play, which has been compared to Michael Schenker, the emotional vocals of Bart Hierling and the tight rhythm of Joz Zoomer’s drums are also included in Ultra Clear. In particular, has there ever been a sound source where you can hear Dick Kemper’s bass, which supports the band ensemble, so realistically? The set list covers most of the famous songs from the 1st and 2nd albums, and even has the feel of a live best. In particular, the 2nd album number starting with “Friday Night” features up to 8 out of 9 songs, including the famous songs “This Is War” and “Different Worlds”, as well as “Welcome To The Club” and “Heading For A Storm”. ” and “Time Will Tell” will be reproduced with the best listening experience. Also, don’t miss the explosive instrumental masterpiece “Kamikaze” from their 3rd album “ALIBI”! At the end of the live performance, listen carefully to the dramatic “Too Late” and the band’s signature song “Burning Heart”, and the live performance concludes with a running performance of “Waiting For The Night”. The quality of the sound, song selection, and performance can be said to be “nothing better than this!”. A special live source that records VANDENBERG’s peak in the best possible way! From the 3rd song on Disc 2, from the 1983 American tour at the time of the release of the 1st album, the longest version ever from the radio show disc is recorded from the Houston, Texas performance on March 3rd! Fans are aware of fragmentary sources for this day’s show, but this work has been made into a sound disc with the highest sound quality from the original broadcast master, and it contains “Lost In A” which cannot be heard on the main Japan sound source. City”, “Nothing To Lose”, and even “Roll Thru The Night” from the “TEASER” era can be enjoyed all at once. With just the right amount of space and a flashy tone typical of the ’80s, it’s a sound that’s even more entertaining than the straight-to-Japan sound source. Even though it was made official at the time of the original master, the quality was completely acceptable, but the sound quality improved even more with the remastering process of making it into a disc. Of course, the pitch is normal, and the 45 minutes will pass in the blink of an eye as you surrender to the famous song and performance! The last two bonus songs are even more of a surprise! The studio takes of “Now I Need You More Than Ever” and “Roll Thru The Night” produced in 1980 from Adrian’s “TEASER” days before forming VANDENBERG are now available on rare analog single masters. Recorded directly from (of course, the disc condition is at the highest level). The quality of the songs is excellent, with the former being catchy and impressive with a faint melancholy, and the latter being speedy and refreshing, which was also played live in 1983. For VANDENBERG, who currently does not have an official live album, this work can be said to fulfill that role. This work, which has a volume of over 140 minutes on two discs, is packed with Adrian’s charm not only in time but also in songs and performances! Not only Adrian’s fans, but also fans of WHITESNAKE and ’80s hard rock, I can assure you that this is a must-listen. This is a 2-CD set of unprecedented quality, a permanent preservation version that is a must-have for fans!
