Description
A reunion with David Lee Roth in 2007 that shook the whole world. A special reprint release of a masterpiece live album that allows you to experience the shocking scene at its best. As the tour attracted worldwide attention, countless recordings appeared at the time, but this time we have carefully selected representative works that received rave reviews in terms of both quality and content. Under such circumstances, this work is the third edition, the best audience recording of “April 22, 2008 Cincinnati Performance”. Their reunion period spanned nine years, with 2007/2008 being the beginning. The total flow will be explained in “THE ONE FOR ALL (Power Gate-236)” which will be reprinted at the same time, but here we will focus on the more detailed schedule. Let’s check their position in the “Immediately After Reunion (2007-2008)” period. 2007《February 2: Announcement of Dave Lee Roth return》・September 27-December 30: North America #1 (40 performances) 2008・January 22-February 20: North America # 2 (15 performances) ・April 17th + 19th: North America #3a (2 performances) ・April 22nd: Cincinnati performance ←★This work★ ・April 24th-28th: North America #3b (3 performances)・April 30th: Pittsburgh performance “DEFINITIVE PITTSBURGH” May 2nd – July 3rd: North America #3c (15 performances) This is VAN HALEN in 2007/2008. For convenience, this time is referred to as the “immediate period of reunion.” This third work and the fourth “DEFINITIVE PITTSBURGH” are the 2008 version of “North America #3” live album. In particular, the Cincinnati performance of this work was the third concert, which was a start dash for the restart of the tour. This work recorded at such a show is the most soundboard-like live album among the 4 fences released at the same time. The key, of course, is the sound. Anyway, it’s very close and glares. All four works this time have a direct feel and are detailed down to the smallest detail, and this is due to the clear atmosphere. However, in the case of this work, the presence of the atmosphere is not felt at all. Of course, if there was no atmosphere, sound wouldn’t travel, so it’s not a vacuum (obviously), but I don’t feel any reverberant components to the extent that I would think so. The “U.S. Bank Arena” where the event took place is not an outdoor venue, but… In any case, the immersive feeling of picking up the entire PA output sound is amazing, and it’s a sound that makes me wonder, “Maybe it’s an IEM recording?” The show drawn with such a super direct sound is a full show that has the aura of a champion who has confirmed the success of the reunion. In fact, the set was fixed for the 2007/2008 tour, and the song selection is the same for these four albums. However, there are some people who view them individually, so I’ll organize them here as well. Flame Fuse (8 songs)・You Really Got Me/I’m The One/Runnin’ With The Devil/Atomic Punk (★)/Little Dreamer (★)/Jamie’s Cryin’ (★)/Ice Cream Man/Ain’ t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love Legendary Bomber (3 songs)・Somebody Get Me A Doctor/Beautiful Girls/Dance The Night Away Dark Law (3 songs)・Romeo Delight/Everybody Wants Some!!/And the Cradle Will Rock … Martial Law (3 songs)・So This Is Love? (★)/Mean Street/Unchained Diver Down (2 songs)・(Oh) Pretty Woman/Little Guitars (★) 1984 (4 songs)・I’ll Wait/Hot For Teacher/Panama/Jump *: Songs marked with “★” cannot be heard on the official live album “TOKYO DOME LIVE IN CONCERT”. …and it looks like this. As I mentioned in the commentary on “REALLY GOT THE BEST” released at the same time, this tour was the best selection of songs that was different from the others even in the reunion era. In this work, you can fully experience such an ultimate best show with super direct sound like a soundboard. Although it does not match the other three works in terms of beauty and dynamism unique to the audience, it is a super vivid live album that is unrivaled as a “sound board replacement”. A unique book that is perfect for beginners. Live at U.S. Bank Arena, Cincinnati, OH. USA 22nd April 2008 TRULY PERFECT SOUND Disc 1(61:01) 1. You Really Got Me 2. I’m The One 3.
