Description

This work is a video compilation produced by overseas enthusiasts in 2012. The content is divided into three main categories, so let’s introduce each one separately. [70’s Promo Clips (3 songs)] The first thing that appears is a video clip from the 70’s. Although it is a familiar video to fans, you can enjoy the three songs “Nothing To Lose”, “In The Dead Of Night” and “Rendezvous 6:02” with the highest quality selected by enthusiasts. This work focuses on “Trio U.K.”, but only “In The Dead Of Night” is from the “Four Patriotic Warriors” era (why was it included?). As expected, the clip is beautiful, and you can witness them in their time when they were shining as “the last hope of British prog rock.” [Appeared on “OLD GRAY WHISTLE TEST” in 1979 (2 songs)] Next is a pro shot from the 70s. You can enjoy “Night After Night” and “Caesar’s Palace Blues” when they appeared on the famous BBC program “OLD GRAY WHISTLE TEST”. In terms of image quality, it cannot be denied that it is inferior to the first clip, but it is far more valuable. Above all, nothing can replace the thrill of watching live music from the 1970s, which is not mime, in moving video. [May 11, 2012 Montreal performance (6 songs)] The final and main feature of this work is the miraculous trio reunion stage video. This is an audience shot of “May 11, 2012 Montreal Performance”. It was a show four days after the 2CD (the 8th performance of “North America #1” according to the schedule published in the commentary), and even though it was an audience, it was 2012. Much more beautiful than the professional shots listed above! The photo was taken from the right side of the stage, but it was very close, probably because the venue was small. The sense of distance from being almost in the front row (possibly the second row) means that even without zooming, the images are super close-up, and of course the image quality is full-on digital with a crisp glare. Although the video was taken eight years ago, it is a super beautiful video that you won’t see very often, even in 2020. The attack of the drums is a bit choppy probably because the sound is so close, but the sense of distance is zero and the direct feeling is tremendous. What is depicted with its visual beauty is exactly reminiscent of the “other side” of the main press 2CD, and the memories of that performance in Japan are vividly revived. Although it is a digest video of 6 songs rather than a full recording, the photographer accurately understands the significance of the trio reorganization, and there are plenty of pogio cuts. Although Wetton is the main character in the vocal part, you can enjoy the close-up of Pogio’s ferocious pounding in the instrumental part. Moreover, the performance is good. In the early stages of the tour, there were many shows that could have collapsed, but in this work it has solidified, and the powerful and dramatic ensemble is exactly the same as the performance in Japan. You can thoroughly experience the miraculous reunion in about 40 minutes. Valuable pro shots from the 70s + close shots from the reorganization stage. This is a video collection where you can witness the best British prog rock trio in the highest quality for about an hour. UK – NIGHT AFTER NIGHT 1979-2012 1. Nothing To Lose(Promo) 2.
