Description
It is truly a “STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT on-site experience”. Introducing a superb video that allows you to witness Michael Schenker’s stage in the 70’s just before he left. This work was filmed at “Fresno performance on August 9, 1978.” This is the audience shot. Speaking of Fresno footage from the 70s, shocking footage of EL&P, AEROSMITH, and VAN HALEN recently appeared, and this work is the UFO edition of that series. If you’ve already experienced the series, you’ve probably already made up your mind, but for those who haven’t, we’ll start from the beginning. First, let’s look back at the schedule at that time and check the show’s position.・January 19th – February 25th: UK #1 (22 performances) ・June 14th – 20th: UK #2a (7 performances) [“OBSESSION” released on June 21st] ・June 21st – July 3rd: UK #2b (12 performances) July 12th – October 29th: North America #1 (58 performances) ←★Coco★《October 29th: Schenker leaves → Chapman returns》・November 30th Sunday – December 16th: North America #2 (11 performances) This is UFO in 1978. They released “OBSESSION”, which was a hit with “LIGHTS OUT”, and embarked on a US tour. Things seemed to be going smoothly, but internal relationships were reaching their limits, and towards the end of the film, on October 29th, Michael Schenker disappeared. The Fresno performance of this work is the 10th performance of such “North America #1”. The official traditional edition “STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT” is also the same “North America #1” live album, and the concert was held about two months before that. This work, which records such a show, is truly shocking. If you’ve experienced the AEROSMITH or VAN HALEN editions, you’ll probably be impressed by the spectacular scenery, superb image quality, and superb sound. It was shot on 8mm film since it was an audience shot before video became popular, but the visual beauty far exceeds that of video. The clear image quality of Schenker’s shaking blonde hair is at a level that is impossible to find on video, and the colors are also richly colored. The Fresno series has a (slight) reddish tint, but this one has none at all. Anyway, the “white” that appears in the spotlight is dazzling. Phil Mogg’s striped vest, Pete Way’s animal costumes, and Schenker’s Flying V all look beautiful in white, and I can’t help but think of the words in a laundry detergent commercial. Of course, the length of one cut, which is the biggest feature of the Fresno series, is also tremendous in this work. Although 8mm footage is normally from a few seconds to a little under a minute, this work has plenty of cuts that are close to 5 minutes long. Of course, it is not a full show, and the structure of supplementing the lack of video with still images is the same as the previous Fresno series. However, the songs do not change one after another, and you can enjoy each song carefully over the course of about 32 minutes. And audio. This show has long been known for its superb recording, but this work is (probably) the original master of that famous recording. The direct feeling of a clear core approaching right in front of you is similar to previous releases, but the freshness is clearly superior, and not only the thick core but also the thick sound is dynamic. This type of ringing is different from what is common in audience recordings, and while it greatly improves dynamism, it does not ring at all due to distance or cloudy conditions. That is the best sound that will make you search your memory and think, “Was there even an FM broadcast?” What is depicted with such visual beauty and superb sound is exactly “the other side of STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT”. This day is the opening act for BLUE OYSTER CULT (by the way, the BOC video “FRESNO 1977: THE VIDEO” released at the same time this week is on a different day), so it is a short set, but during that time, “STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT” A passionate performance that seems like a condensed version of “” is unfolded. Phil’s wet voice is at the peak of tension and melancholy, and Pete’s groove is also rolling. And Michael Schenker, right before he was called “God.” Although the camera work is centered around Phil in the overall video, Schenker gets a close-up shot during the guitar solo, revealing his divine figure in black leather and blonde hair. And then, one after another, he spins out phrases that seem like they’ll break if you touch them… Anyway, the audio in this work is amazing, and you can enjoy that beautiful melody closely. UFO’s masterpiece, the eternally famous live album “STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT”. Although this work is a separate show, it is a masterpiece that clearly shows the appearance of the five people on the other side of that famous album. Just how many masterpieces will emerge from this Fresno series? A video work that goes far beyond mere preciousness. Live at Selland Arena, Fresno, CA, USA 9th August 1978 AMAZING SHOT!!!!! 1.
