Description

The “BOY Tour” opened the door to the world and took flight. A soundboard album that allows you to experience the stage at its finest has been decided to be released. This work records the “March 3, 1981 Washington D.C. performance”. This is a stereo soundboard recording. The “BOY Tour” definitive edition “DEN HAAG 1981” has been permanently preserved, and “KRO STUDIO, HILVERSUM 1980” has also appeared. With this work, you can collect the soundboard albums that represent the “BOY Tour” all at once. Now, let’s check the positions of each of the three works on the schedule at that time. 1980 September 6th – October 19th: Europe #1 (34 performances) ← *KRO STUDIO, HILVERSUM 1980 (“BOY” released on October 20th) ・November 4th – December 3rd: Europe #2 (24 performances) ・December 6th – 15th: North America #1 (24 performances) ・December 17th – 22nd: Ireland (5 performances) 1981 January 23rd – February 21st: Europe #3 (22 performances) ← *DEN HAAG 1981 March 3rd – May 31st: North America #2 (57 performances) ← ★Here★ ・June 4th – 9th: Europe #4 (4 performances)This is the whole picture of the “BOY Tour”. Up until “WAR”, U2’s activities were basically over the New Year holidays, and in the first half of 1980 there was a show related to the EP “THREE”, and in the second half of 1981 they switched to the “OCTOBER Tour”. The above is only the schedule for the “BOY Tour”. Here, they also realized their first continental European tour and a US tour across the ocean. They expanded their activities from an island nation to a worldwide one. In the midst of all this, the Washington D.C. performance of this work was the first day of “North America #2”, their second visit to the United States. Two performances were held in one day, and this was the first show. This work, which recorded such a stage, is also an exquisite masterpiece. The raw and exposed extra thick core rises into the brain, and if the edges are sharp, the atmosphere is crystal clear. Although the recording quality at the scene is one step behind the new masterpiece “DEN HAAG 1981”, the freshness of the master is not at all inferior. That’s because the master of this work was carefully selected by the same U2 researcher as “DEN HAAG 1981” and “KRO STUDIO, HILVERSUM 1980”. Due to the roughness of the recording stage, the seat of the permanent preservation press was handed over to “DEN HAAG 1981”, but there is no doubt that this show’s highest peak ever. As mentioned above, there are only two performances a day, so a short set is inevitable… Anyway, because it is short, the concentrated heat is tremendous, and it is certain that the sense of preciousness runs through the whole story at full power without interruption. Finally, let’s check out the concentrated set. Boy (8 songs + α) An Cat Dubh / Into the Heart / Another Time, Another Place / The Cry-The Electric Co. / Stories For Boys / Twilight / I Will Follow / Out of Control Single (3 songs) 11 O’clock Tick Tock / Touch / Things To Make And Do “BOY Tour” challenged the world and grew at a tremendous speed with each performance. “KRO STUDIO, HILVERSUM 1980” and this work are like a completely different band. This is one corner of the soundboard trilogy where you can enjoy such a leap of evolution with a brain-invading sound. The soundboard album of the “BOY Tour” shortly after its debut has been released. With the highest peak master carefully selected by overseas U2 researchers, you can enjoy the delicious early stage of precious songs such as “Touch”, “Things To Make And Do” and “Another Time, Another Place”.
