Up until “WAR”, U2’s activities were basically over the New Year holidays, and in the first half of 1980 there was a show related to the EP “THREE”, and in the second half of 1981 they switched to the “OCTOBER Tour”. They expanded their activities from an island nation to a worldwide one. In the midst of all this, the Washington D.C. performance of this work was the first day of “North America #2”, their second visit to the United States.
