Description
The performance in Japan in 2019 was a complete reenactment of the historical masterpiece “THE JOSHUA TREE” for the first time in 13 years. A 4-disc original recording that completely records the entire story is now available. What is included in this work is, of course, “December 4 + 5, 2019 Saitama Super Arena performance”. This is an audience recording that allows you to fully experience the entire two-time performance in Japan! Although the show was just held a week ago, this work is not only a quick release, but the quality is also excellent. This is an original recording of this work that was given to me by the recording artist himself, and was made by the same person on both days. Although there are slight differences due to the difference in position (the second day has a slightly stronger direct feeling), you can experience the entire Live in Japan with a sense of unity. Moreover, the sound quality itself is very neat. What’s amazing is the powerful core with plenty of response. Of course, since “THE JOSHUA TREE TOUR 2019” is a super spectacle that is said to be the best in the world, it is impossible to feel so close that you can mistake it for a sound board, but it is one of the best in the world in terms of guest records. Despite the spaciousness of the space, the core that flies straight into it is as powerful as a laser beam and has a clear outline. The bass line, which tends to be blurred at large venues, is clearly visible, and the snare, which tends to be sparse, has plenty of density. You can enjoy the guitar as well, from every note of the riff and arpeggio to slight bending. Of course, each instrument can be heard even when played at a very low volume, and it has a great sense of stability that does not make you nervous even when the sound is very powerful. And the vocals. This is amazing. Bono’s strong singing voice extends beautifully, and even when the chorus and chorus overlap, every word of the lyrics is perfect. On top of that, the exquisite venue sound gives a thrilling sense of scale and depth, and perfectly creates the vast sound world of U2. In fact, the spectacle of this work is also delicious. After all, this time it is a complete reproduction of the great masterpiece of the century “THE JOSHUA TREE”, and the other parts are also a rich show that squeezes the best masterpieces into a short time. Large choruses occur frequently, and they are vast, and Bono’s powerful singing voice pierces through the middle. The three-dimensional effect and contrast are super spectacular, and the dynamism and ease of listening are both wonderfully compatible. The show drawn with such a sound was slightly different over the two days. This is also the first report on their arrival in Japan, so let’s summarize the two days’ worth of sets here. [Main set (80s)] ● Opening: Sunday Bloody Sunday ● Before album reproduction (4 songs)・BOY: I Will Follow (first day only)・OCTOBER: Gloria (second day only)・WAR: New Year’s Day・THE UNFORGETTABLE FIRE: Bad/Pride (In The Name Of Love) ●Album reproduction (11 songs): All THE JOSHUA TREE songs ●After album reproduction (1 song)・RATTLE AND HUM: Angel Of Harlem (first day only)/Desire (2nd day) Eyes only) [Encore (from the 90s: 8 songs)]・ACHTUNG BABY: Even Better Than The Real Thing/Ultraviolet (Light My Way)/One・ALL THAT YOU CAN’T LEAVE BEHIND: Elevation/Beautiful Day・HOW TO DISMANTLE AN ATOMIC BOMB: Vertigo・SONGS OF INNOCENCE: Every Breaking Wave (first day only)・SONGS OF EXPERIENCE: You’re the Best Thing About Me (second day only)/Love Is Bigger Than Anything In Its Way…and, It looks like this. The main set is centered around “THE JOSHUA TREE”, and the introduction consists of early songs from “OCTOBER” to “THE UNFORGETTABLE FIRE”, and after the album is reproduced, it concludes with the number of the next work “RATTLE AND HUM”. What’s more, the order of the songs is thorough, with the exception of the fixed opening song “Sunday Bloody Sunday”, which neatly arranges the songs before and after “THE JOSHUA TREE” in chronological order, summarizing the “80s.” Your tastes may be divided between “I Will Follow/Angel Of Harlem” on the first day and “Gloria/Desire” on the second day, but you can enjoy this conceptual flow on both days. On the other hand, the encore summarizes the “90s and beyond.” With a free set that is free from chronological order, they will play out famous songs from about 30 years, with “ACHTUNG BABY” as the centerpiece. In particular, “SONGS OF INNOCENCE” and “SONGS OF EXPERIENCE”, which were released after the last visit to Japan, are fresh, and I’m glad that they’ve changed them every day so I can experience even a little more songs for the first time. In 2017, the 30th anniversary of the album’s release, “THE JOSHUA TREE TOUR” attracted 2.7 million people and became the number one tour in the world. This is a 4-disc set where you can fully experience the Japanese version with a wonderfully neat unified sound. The first part of the report is a gorgeous complete set.
