In 1989, U2 returned to Japan for the first time in six years, having become the darlings of the era. The original master that conveys that glorious performance in Japan has been newly discovered. This work is inspired by the “November 29, 1989: Osaka Castle Hall” performance. Speaking of U2 in 1989, they achieved two successive albums, “THE JOSHUA TREE” and “RATTLE AND HUM,” which reached number one in the US and UK, and they were an unstoppable force to be reckoned with. This is an exquisite audience recording that records the first act of the “LOVETOWN TOUR” that toured the world with B.B. King. Since that tour to Japan was a major event that remains in the Western music scene, our store has archived it with a number of masterpiece live albums. First of all, let’s look back at the schedule at that time in order to organize the collection.・November 23rd: Yokohama Arena “WHEN LOVE COMES TO JAPAN” ・November 25th: Tokyo Dome “TOKYO DOME 1989 1st Night: MASTER” ・November 26th: Tokyo Dome “LOVE RESCUE ME” ・November 28th : Osaka Castle Hall ・November 29: Osaka Castle Hall ←★This work★ ・December 1: Osaka Castle Hall “OSAKA 1989 Final Night” *Note: Only representative press titles for each day. That’s all 6 performances. In the past, the focus was on the Kanto area, but in recent years press masterpieces from Osaka performances have also appeared. With this work, we are one step closer to completely preserving the original recording permanently. This work that recorded such a show is truly an exquisite audience recording. In fact, the person who made this work a thing was a legendary master. He has created a large number of Live in Japan masterpieces that remain in recording history, mainly in the 80’s, and is actually the same recording artist as “OSAKA 1989 Final Night.” It is a legendary taper that is rumored to surpass even Kinney, and our store has archived a large amount of its treasured original masters, and this work is the latest excavation. In fact, the sound is really neat and beautiful. Although it was an audience recording that honestly absorbed the cheers at the height of its popularity, the atmosphere is clear and sparkling, and the core that penetrates through the middle is as vivid as a laser beam. Especially in the case of U2 from the 1980s, the emphasis is on the resonance and lingering sound of the sound itself, but the sound and the sound of the hall harmonize so naturally that they cannot be separated. Although it is not the type that advertises as “zero distance, no contact, just like a soundboard”, the subtleties of the performance are clearly conveyed, and on top of that, the sense of reality and immersion of standing in the middle of the venue is wonderful. It is a world of beautiful sounds because it is an audience recording. What is depicted with such beautiful sound is a full show that delivered the glory of conquering the world to Japan. U2 is also a band that changes their set every day, and even when they came to Japan in 1989, they had different daily songs each time. This is a good opportunity, so let’s organize the fixed songs and daily songs separately. Fixed songs (9 songs)・Homura: Pride (In The Name Of Love)・Joshua Tree: Where The Streets Have No Name/I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For・Scream of the Soul: Desire/All Along The Watchtower / All I Want Is You / Angel Of Harlem / When Love Comes To Town (★) / Love Rescue Me (★) Daily songs (7 songs)・Boy: I Will Follow・WAR: New Year’s Day・Flame: MLK/The Unforgettable Fire・Joshua Tree: Bullet The Blue Sky/With Or Without You・Cry of the Soul: Van Diemen’s Land *Note: “★” indicates a collaboration with B.B. King. …and it looks like this. A little less than half of the set changed daily, but among them it can be divided into semi-standard and rare songs that were played at most shows. The rare song that day was “The Unforgettable Fire,” a number that was performed only on the first day in Tokyo and the second day in Osaka. Also, in terms of their career as a whole, their repertoire includes Bob Dylan’s cover “All Along The Watchtower,” “Love Rescue Me,” which also features B.B. King, and “Van Diemen’s Land,” which features Edge’s guitar. You can experience many such valuable songs on-site with the best sound. This is a live album where you can not only experience the “LOVETOWN TOUR” at its peak, but also breathe in the aroma of the “80s Western music boom” to your heart’s content. Meticulously aligned clapping, cheering that was careful not to interfere with the performance, and a sea of loud choruses that could no longer be held back… The unique mood of a Japanese performance was that the feeling of breathing fed back into the stage and expelled the enthusiasm. An original master that allows you to experience the ultimate sense of being in the middle of it.
