What the heck! There are often special programs on TV with titles like “Shocking footage ● Continuous!”, but this is a shocking video work of that level!! This work is an audience video of TWISTED SISTER’s “May 26, 2006 Charlotte performance”. I was so shocked that I hesitated to introduce it calmly, with the super beautiful picture and sound quality of digital equipment from the front seats in front of the stage. No, they’re not doing anything particularly strange, but a regular show of TWISTED SISTER that was reunited with the original lineup… I think so… What’s so shocking is that Dee Snider’s makeup pops out on the screen with a lot of close-ups and super detailed picture quality. Please don’t think “Oh, that’s it.” Although it’s familiar from the jacket photo, Dee’s makeup face, 51 years old at the time, is frankly “dirty”. It goes wild without stopping for a moment. She shook her hair, headbanged, screamed with her long horse face distorted, sweaty, blonde hair sticking to her face… she was almost a Yamanba gal. Furthermore, guitarist Jay Jay French played the guitar with glitter lipstick and cheeks on his plump face. It was much clearer than the official footage from the 80s. It made me think “Wow…”, but it’s not that I can’t look at it, I just can’t take my eyes off it. Dee’s action never stopped for a second, she boasted stamina that made me want to say “are you in your 20s?”, and she smirked with that makeup and stirred up the audience. Her performance and singing were not the same as in her heyday, and it was so powerful and dramatic that it really drew me in. Also, even though the image quality was better than the official one, it was filmed from the audience, so the reality of the scene was amazing. It’s a whirlwind of enthusiasm that goes far beyond “enjoying the show” or “enjoying it to the fullest.” The camerawork is trying to find a gap in the incredible chorus, the commotion, and the countless hands that are raised, but it still manages to capture Dee in close-up and beautifully. What is this…? “Because I only know “We’re Not Gonna Take It”…”? If so, I want you to see Dee’s smug face when the intro beat of “We’re Not Gonna Take It” starts. I want you to see his face as he breaks the song and speaks with satisfaction at the excitement. Why does his dirty face make my heart pound so much? Why do I feel happy to see all these old men going crazy like idiots? I don’t know if this is the “spirit of rock” or the “spirit of metal.” In fact, this video was released in memory of drummer A.J. Pero, who died of a heart attack in March last year (by the way, former DREAM THEATER member Mike Portnoy is currently touring as a support). The cameraman was also burning his heart and clenching his fists at the scene. This is a video filled with that metal feeling. Even if you don’t own any of TWISTED SISTER’s albums, or even if you don’t know any of their songs, it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter. Still, these vulgar, cheap, dirty, and yet hopelessly hot old guys will stir up “something in your soul”. Such a shocking and incredibly hot video.
