Description
TOTO in 1996 opened a new chapter with “TAMBU” featuring Simon Phillips. Introducing a different dimension soundboard album that allows you to experience the stage at its finest. This work records “March 3, 1996 Antwerp performance (Belgium)”. It is a superb stereo soundboard recording. The biggest point of this work is the shocking quality, but first of all, the position of the show. Let’s look back at the schedule at that time. 1995 “TAMBU” released on May 9th May 16-25: Europe #1 (3 shows) June 16-July 8: Europe #2 (16 shows) October 18-December 12: Europe #3a (37 shows) 1996 January 8-March 3: Europe #3b (29 shows) ←★Here★ March 31-April 12: Japan (10 shows) April 14-21: Asia (6 shows) May 10-18: South America (5 shows) June 7-July 21: Europe #4 (28 shows) This is TOTO in 1995/1996. They toured the world on the “TAMBU Tour”, but the main event was the European tour that took place over the New Year holidays. The Antwerp performance in this work was the final day of the tour, and was also the last concert just before coming to Japan. This work, which recorded such a show, is a super-class stereo sound board. Although there are many different types of “sound boards,” this work is a so-called “mix table direct connection system.” It is also unprocessed, close-up, and glaring, and you can tell from the moment you play it that “this is not a broadcast.” The cheers are far away, but even more so, the intense feeling of live instruments and the bread that blows away with an extraordinary width are not thought of at all as being played on home audio. It is a “bare sound board” that is the exact sound that is being spit out from the on-site PA. There is no trace of the so-called “concert experience,” but that is what is irresistible for sound board enthusiasts who have worn out their ears. The power of live performance that erases the presence of the cold poles turns your brain into a concert venue, and you can immerse yourself in a sense of synchronization that makes your whole body become one with each instrument. It’s fine to call it “official class,” but it is also a different dimension sound that you can never experience with an actual official work. The show, which is drawn with such a sound that hits the pleasure center directly, is also superb. The band always captivates with high-quality ensembles, but with the addition of Simon Phillips, a master of masters, it has become even more refined. The superb sound will imprint the whole story in the wrinkles of your brain. And the set that will be the subject of live performances is also a collection of masterpieces. Let’s organize the contents here. 70s/80s Classics (7 songs) ・Knight of the Space: I’ll Supply The Love ・Holy Sword: Africa/Rosanna (★) ・Fahrenheit: I’ll Be Over You/Don’t Stop Me Now (★) ・The Seventh Sword: Home Of The Brave/Stop Loving You 90s (7 songs) ・Kingdom of Desire: Don’t Chain My Heart/Jake To The Bone ・Tambu: Drag Him To The Roof/Gift Of Faith/If You Belong To Me/The Turning Point/Dave’s Gone Skiing *Note: The “★” mark indicates a song that also includes a bonus soundboard from another performance. …And so it goes like this. This work is a full recording of the Antwerp performance, but after that, four bonus soundboards from another performance are also included (from the 8th track on DISC 2). Although the performance date and venue are unknown, the transcendent sound characteristics are also present in the main story, so it is likely that the same people involved recorded it as an extra bonus with the excess tape. “Stop Loving You” only has the ending part, and “Smoke On The Water” only has the intro riff, but “Rosanna” and “Don’t Stop Me Now” are included in full. I was about to write that this is a treasure live album where you can listen to the precious “TAMBU” numbers with official sound, but I stopped. It’s not that good, but it’s not the time. Anyway, I want you to experience this superb direct sound. And as much as possible with headphones. The four virtuoso and female chorus fly around in your head, stirring your brain. The pleasure of being swept away by the emotion of “Africa” like a great river while immersing your whole body in an extraordinary sound universe. Ah, I want to drown in a flood of music… This is a different dimension sound board that will make you say such a nonsense. A superb stereo sound board recording of the “March 3, 1996 Antwerp performance”. Directly connected to the mix table, it is unprocessed, intimate, and dazzling. The loud cheers are far away, but it is a “bare sound board” that is the exact sound emitted from the on-site PA, including the intense feeling of live instruments and the panning that blows away with an extraordinary width. You can also enjoy the precious “TAMBU” number with such a different dimension sound that goes beyond the official. It is an absolute board that should be enjoyed alongside the official work.
