Description
Tommy Flanagan, an elegant bop craftsman, started his European tour in 1990 with a live performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival in July and an appearance at the Bern Jazz Festival in Switzerland in 1991. Both performances were recorded to official standards using digital broadcasts, and will be considered masterpieces in the future. The trio is composed of virtuoso George Mraz on bass and Lewis Nash on drums, who has recorded over 300 albums in energetic collaborations with jazz masters both old and new. With the two backed by outstanding jazz spirits, Tommy Flanagan’s delicate piano expresses a snappy touch and crystal clear vividness. The first disc features masterpieces by Gershun, Thad Jones, Tadd Dameron, and others, while the second disc features masterpieces by Coltrane, Monk, Billy Strayhorn, and others, so it is no exaggeration to say that the entire album is worth listening to. In addition, the two discs are recorded to the official standard quality, so you can enjoy Lewis Nash’s brushing technique.
