Description
In June 1974, just before leaving the James Gang, he toured briefly with former members of his former band Energy, and performed at Denver’s Ebbets Field on June 3rd and 4th. Recorded live in master quality, soundboard sound source. First of all, this sound source was released as an official bootleg that was a compilation of live sound sources extracted from two days of performances after his death, but it is currently difficult to obtain, so this time we will introduce the original source and Recorded from the local FM on-air master. And the splendor of the live performances during this period was something that has since become a legend, starting with the first song, a Mahavishnu Orchestra number played at a rapid pace reminiscent of McLaughlin. The second song is a number from Iart Moreira’s album “Fingers” and a jazz/crossover-oriented play at the beginning, and then the fifth song is a number from Free’s first album, and songs by Albert King and Bill Withers. There are covers and a variety of songs, and at the end there is a transcendent number from Billy Cobham’s “Spectrum”, which he himself participated in and made Tommy famous, and all of these have a high proportion of instrumental parts. I kept playing it. Although he joined Purple the following year and his talent blossomed, he passed away in 1976, a fact that is regretted, and his playing here can be said to be a masterpiece. 01.
