Tom Tom Club/Illinois, USA 1989

Tom Tom Club is best known for their song “Chatty Witch,” which was a number one hit in the US in the 1980s! Although they are a unit derived from Talking Heads, they have continued to be active since then, and their live performance at Chubby Bear Lounge, a live house in Chicago, in 1989 is recorded as a soundboard sound source. They performed another of their signature songs, “Genius of Love,” an excellent cover of “Nagisa no Boardwalk,” and even Talking Heads’ “Psycho Killer.” This is an excellent live sound source of the Tom Tom Club, where the weak chorus of bassist Tina’s sister Weymouth Sisters creates a mysterious charm.
