Description
The 2024 solo live performance of the rare artist Tigran Hamasyan, who released the masterpiece “Bird of a Thousand Voices,” which is at the pinnacle of modern jazz/prog, and depicts the legend of the “Firebird” of his homeland Armenia with a variety of sounds and traditional melodies, is now available for the first time in the finest high-quality sound! This work is a complete recording of a solo live performance at the Prague Sounds Festival in the Czech Republic on November 20, 2024, immediately after the release of “Bird of a Thousand Voices,” over 80 minutes on a superb high-quality sound board with careful mastering by the label itself. It is also fun to compare the trio and solo performances of many of the songs included in “Bird of a Thousand Voices.” Come and listen to the new music of the superhuman Hamasyan, who has never been heard before, with his sharp sensibility and virtuosity! In the solo, Hamasyan incorporates his own whistling and scat singing into the piano, and with his virtuosity, he generously displays everything he has to offer, from the distinctive melodies derived from Armenian traditional music, to complex rhythms such as odd time signatures and polyrhythms, to church-like sounds! At times, the beautiful, fleeting, and fantastical songs that remind one of Keith Jarrett’s influence are also wonderful! At the end of the album, he plays the only standard song, “Someday My Prince Will Come,” which is transformed into a completely new piece of music with a surprising and innovative arrangement.
