THIN LIZZY officially reunited from the John Sykes era, leaving only “ONE NIGHT ONLY” and never releasing any official video work. The super best video that will replace the official one has been decided to be released. This work was filmed at “February 21, 2004 Texas Performance”. This is the multi-camera audience shot. You may be thinking, “Is the audience a substitute for the official audience?”, and that’s natural. However, this work is such an incredible image that I have no choice but to express it that way. How amazing is the image… But before that, let’s look at the show’s position. Speaking of John Sykes in 2004, his performance in Japan that was featured in “BAD BOYS LIVE!” is memorable, but his main activity was THIN LIZZY. Let’s look back at the schedule at that time.・February 8th-29th: North America #1 (13 performances) ←★Here★ April 16th-21st: Japan (4 performances) ←*“BAD BOYS LIVE!” ・May 1st-22nd: Europe (3 performances) August 10th – September 13th: North America #2 (18 performances) *Note: Only the Japanese performances marked with “◆” are solo performances, the others are performances with THIN LIZZY. This is John Sykes’ 2004. Detailed data is lacking, partly due to the long period of activity that cannot be called vigorous. Therefore, the number of performances is not very certain, but you can understand that most of them were THIN LIZZY shows. Among them, the Texas performance of this work was the 8th concert of “North America #1”, which is scheduled to come to Japan. Now, here’s the main topic. This work, which records such a show, is an absolutely stunning multi-camera work. It is assembled from images taken with three cameras, and each one is super-excellent. Anyway, the close-up is amazing, the bust-up is a given, and the close-up of her facial expressions is so close that it almost pops off the screen. If it was just one car or just Sykes, I could still tell, but all three of them were in strong close-up, and even the drummer at the back of the stage had a wide expression on his face. When it comes to pulling out, the audience can be seen, so it can be identified as an audience shot, but there is still no obstruction, and since it is a multi-camera edit, it is unstable and there are no easy-to-see cuts. Additionally, the editing is superb. In addition to simply switching cuts, during the guitar solo, the screen is split to show the hand from every perspective, and during the singing part, a close-up of facial expressions overlaps the entire view. More specifically, even the menu screen is elaborate, and you can switch between 2ch stereo and 5.1ch surround… Of course, no matter how good the surround sound is, it is meaningless if the sound quality itself is poor. However, the synchronized audio in this work is also transcendent. I think it’s an Odin recording… but it’s hard to say for sure. Apparently it was an outdoor stage, and there were no echoes, probably because there were no walls or ceilings. There is an overwhelming feeling of close contact with no sense of distance, the extra-thick core jumps into the ear, and the clear details are super vivid. In fact, it’s so powerful that there are some places where distortion occurs at the peak of the bass drum, but other than that, there are no flaws. It’s a transcendental sound that fits perfectly in a super close-up. Let’s use the usual term for this quality. Each one is “like a one-camera professional shot,” and the audio is “like a sound board.” A multi-camera edit that beautifully puts all of that together… Yes, this is the meaning of the “audience in place of the official” that I wrote at the beginning. What is depicted with such visual beauty is the glorious masterpieces of THIN LIZZY. It seems that this day was a support for LITTLE FEAT, and it was a short set of about 45 minutes, but it was filled with the best of the richness that was like a further compression of “ONE NIGHT ONLY”. The rhythm section at that time was the late Michael Lee (drums), formerly of PAGE/PLANT, and Randy Gregg (bass), who also participated in the ANGEL tour. The absence of Brian Downey is a bit disappointing, but it was a luxury. There is no end to it. A group of famous songs performed by the twins Sykes and Scott Gorham, with Sykes’ singing voice filled with reverence for Phil Lynott. Being able to experience it in such a high quality is such a treasure. Speaking of THIN LIZZY sung by Sykes, in addition to the official “ONE NIGHT ONLY”, there are some super-excellent live albums such as our store’s “HEALING PRAYERS” and “TOKYO 1994 2ND NIGHT”. However, the video… A transcendent “audience shot in place of the official one” that will heal such thirst.
