Description

From the THIN LIZZY tribute tour that was held in Japan in 1994, with John Sykes, Scott Gorham, Brian Downey, and others reuniting, 6 performances other than the Miyagi performance are available as the finest audience source. The big title packaged in the package has been decided to be officially released! Of course, everything is completely new to the market, and the original DAT master, which is completely unknown even among traders, is used directly. You can learn all about the special Japan tour that gave fans deep emotion and a strong impact with the highest quality sound. Including “Vol.1” which contains the first three performances from the 18th to the 22nd, and “Vol.2″ which contains the latter three performances from the 23rd to the 25th, it is a huge volume of 12 discs! This work can definitely be called the biggest title of the year for all THIN LIZZY fans! For John Sykes, THIN LIZZY was a band that had a very strong fondness for, including memories with Phil Lynott, although their period of activity was short. Although “THUNDER AND LIGHTNING” released in 1983 received great acclaim, it must have been complicated for Sykes to have to produce an album and tour with the assumption that they would disband. In 1993, 10 years after THIN LIZZY’s disbandment, after the end of the Japan tour accompanying the release of “NOTHIN’ BUT TROUBLE”, he energetically reached out to various parties and realized his long-awaited reunion of the members. Led by original member Brian Downey, Scott Gorham, who was a key figure in Twin Reed, and Darren Wharton, who was active in the 1980s as keyboards, were joined, with Sykes himself serving as guitar and vocalist. After arranging the lineup of “THUNDER AND LIGHTNING” at the time (Marco Mendoza, who co-starred with BLUE MURDER, was in charge of the bass), a special tribute live tour was held only in Japan in November 1994. The second half of this work, “Vol.2”, which follows “Vol.1”, includes a complete recording of three live performances, including the two-day consecutive performance at Nakano Sun Plaza and the final performance in Amagasaki on the 25th. Here you can listen carefully to a number of valuable documents that will overwhelm all THIN LIZZY fans with the finest sound! Discs 1 and 2 include the live performance on November 23rd from the 2 consecutive performances at Nakano Sun Plaza in the middle of the tour. This recording is considered to be one of the best in the series, with outstanding visibility, excellent balance, and a performance with a thick and thick tone that is a great listen. The sound image where Marco Mendoza’s bass is clearly transmitted is wonderful from the beginning of the live performance such as “Jailbreak” and “Waiting For An Alibi” (“Bad Reputation” where the rhythm section with Downey is emphasized is the best one) ). The twin guitars of Sykes and Gorham also play exquisitely on “Don’t Believe A Word”, “Emerald” and “Are You Ready”. After completing the first four performances of the tour, the band has become accustomed to the stage, and each member’s harmonious play is as fulfilling as LIZZY’s golden age. When you listen to “Cowboy Song” and “The Boys Are Back In Town” in the latter half of the live show, where the band performs with a sense of unity, you will feel as if the 10-year gap as a band had never happened. Excellent sound quality is maintained until the end, and “Black Rose” and “Thunder And Lightning” approach with a direct feel like a line sound source are overwhelming! This recording is 100 minutes long, allowing listeners to fully enjoy the power of LIZZY’s live performance. Discs 3 and 4 contain footage from the second day of the Nakano Sunplaza performance held on November 24th. Previously on this day, a sound board sound source that surprised all fans was released as “HEALING PRAYERS” (Import Title). However, just like the live performance at the Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall on the 22nd recorded in “Vol.1”, here you can enjoy live recording and reliving the experience unique to excellent audience recording, which cannot be experienced with sound board sound sources. The sound quality is as good as the previous day (discs 1 and 2), and the rich bass sounds are powerful from “Jailbreak” onwards. The direct feel of the sound also shows off the song’s characteristics in “Cold Sweat.” “Angel Of Death” is a great listen, as the keyboard tone is captured with piercing clarity. Don’t miss listening to “Got To Give It Up”, which has a wonderful contrast between lyrical melody and hard performance. The biggest listening point of the day will appear in the encore. “Rosalie” and “Black Rose”, which made the venue go wild, could be enjoyed with the sound board sound source, but the last song “Thunder And Lightning” was not recorded yet. This work is sure to be a one-of-a-kind one for enthusiasts who have been waiting impatiently for this day’s take! And on the final discs 5 and 6, you can enjoy the live performance at “Archaic Hall” in Amagasaki, Hyogo on November 25th, the last day of the tour, with an audience sound that is also excellent in brightness and balance. In this tour where a total of 7 performances were held, this was the only stage in Kansai. Even when you think about it from today’s perspective, it’s strange that no live show was held in Osaka or Nagoya. However, the enthusiasm of the fans who have been waiting for this live is high, and the venue is filled with excitement from the first half of the show. “Waiting For An Alibi” gets cheers and applause the moment the intro begins, and even the chorus is surprisingly loud. “Cold Sweat”, with its intense guitar intro, is the highlight of the first half. Here again, the fans support the band with loud cheers, and especially in Sykes’ guitar solo, the expression “enthusiasm” shows the perfect excitement. As the live performance progresses, the sound quality further improves, and from “The Sun Goes Down” and “Angel Of Death” onwards, the live performance is reproduced with a direct feeling and realism comparable to line sound sources. The ease of listening and direct feeling of one of the highlights, “Still In Love With You”, is one of the best in “Vol.2”. Needless to say, the climax “The Boys Are Back In Town” and the encore “Black Rose” are powerful, and the exquisite sense of presence that involves the entire venue is irresistible. The loud cheers and applause after the last performance of “Thunder And Lightning” will give the listener the best aftertaste (note also the use of BLUE MURDER’s “Jelly Roll” in the outro)! Like the simultaneously released “Vol. 1”, the total volume is about 300 minutes, giving all listeners an overwhelming spectacle. By enjoying “Vol. 1” from the first half of the tour and “Vol. 2” from the climax, listeners will be able to enjoy the excitement of the venue and the special mood unique to live performances that could not be known from the soundboard sound source that has already been released. You will be able to relive it to the fullest! Of course, the sound board sound source that allows you to enjoy playing with official-grade sound is wonderful, but precisely because it is such a historic live, the finest audience recording like this work has value as a record. Please enjoy the tour that has sent fans into a whirlpool of excitement with this work, which has immeasurable weight as a true document.
