Description
Two heroes born in Ireland, Gary Moore and Phil Lynott. The fates of the two men crossed in various ways, but the deepest bond between them was when they joined THIN LIZZY, which resulted in the album “BLACK ROSE”. A pro-shot video symbolizing this is to be released. This work was filmed at the “Sydney performance on October 29, 1978”. This is a multi-camera pro-shot. Gary joined THIN LIZZY three times, in 1974, 1977, and 1978-1979. Of these, “1977” and “1978-1979” were a continuous flow following Brian Robertson’s departure. This is a good opportunity to take a closer look at the complex movements here. Side projects such as THE GREEDIES are omitted. In early 1977, he performed 38 shows as a substitute for Robo, but then Robo returned temporarily and left the band. Gary officially joined in July 1978. They toured before starting the production of BLACK ROSE, and their first Australian tour was realized there. The Sydney performance of this work was the final day of the show. This show was professionally shot and broadcast on the TV station “CHANNEL 7-TV”. LIZZY is a band with many half-official titles due to loose rights, but this video has also been re-titled and distributed. It is a classic that has also had a Japanese version released. That’s why many people have seen it, but the quality is really amazing. Although the sound is not so good to call it “official class” because it was originally a TV broadcast, the video is perfect. Since it was an outdoor performance in the sun, you can see the spectacular sight of more than 26,000 big fools spreading like a carpet in super clear. The quality depicts a miraculous stage where both heroes stand side by side. After all, Gary was 26 years old at the time and had just switched from fusion to HR. Even when he was a vocalist, he was a very intense person, but here he injects his energy only into the guitar. The guitar crazy nickname is as explosive as fire, and the action that does not stop for a moment is like Yngwie’s first visit to Japan. On the other hand, Phil is 27 years old. Although he often stands in front of the microphone, Phil is charismatic and makes the crowd dance freely, and gives us plenty of glossy fast vocals. Also, drummer Mark Nauseef is indispensable for this show. He is a substitute for Brian Downey, who was unable to participate due to his son’s illness, but he is also a master. With his participation, it is also a “half LIZZY / half G-FORCE” lineup, and he is roaring powerful drumming that incites Gary’s bomb from behind. It is not a full show because it is a TV broadcast, but it must be a one-of-a-kind long-length pro shot of Gary and Phil co-starring.
