Description

Irish hero THIN LIZZY was born in 1969 and ran through a short 14-year history. A new excavated live album that conveys the final performance is now available. Speaking of THIN LIZZY’s last show, it was the “Nuremberg performance on September 4, 1983.” This is an audience recording when participating in the MONSTERS OF ROCK tour held in West Germany. The recording of this show has been known for a long time, and our shop is also familiar with “FAREWELL TOUR 1983”. However, this work is a new master that is different from that. It is not a difference in generation, etc., but a completely different recording. Before we get into the details, let’s first talk about the position of the show itself. Speaking of the Sykes era, there are many official live albums and videos, and the recently released “MONSTERS OF ROCK: KAISERSLAUTERN 1983” is also very popular. Let’s take a look at the schedule at that time.・January 26th – March 3rd: UK #1 (21 performances) ← *Official Hitchin video [“THUNDER AND LIGHTNING” released on March 4th] ・March 6th – April 10th: UK #2 ( 24 performances) ← *Official LIFE/Dublin video ・April 27th – May 4th: Europe (6 performances) ・May 17th – 23rd: Japan (5 performances)《Once the tour is over》 ・August 28th : Reading Festival appearance ← *Official BBC RADIO ONE ・September February: Dortmund performance (MOR) ・September March “KAISERSLAUTERN 1983” ・September April: Nuremberg performance (MOR) ←★This work★ This is 1983 THIN LIZZY. In addition to this, there were also solo performances by Phil Lynott, but I have summarized only THIN LIZZY. The “THUNDER AND LIGHTNING Tour” ended with the Japan tour in May, but Reading Festival and the MONSTERS OF ROCK tour were added three months later. As a result, the band was officially disbanded after the Nuremberg performance of this work. This work, recorded on such a memorial night, is a newly discovered recording that is a sister work to the well-received “KAISERSLAUTERN 1983”. This time as well, it was discovered as part of the currently popular “G.Mann” collection, and is a signature item created from the 1st Gene Master. The sound is clear and powerful. The core jumps into the ears vividly, and the details are very clear. Conventional recordings felt a little distant, but in this work, the powerful core is really right in front of you. Sykes’ machine gun picking is vividly captured to the outline of each shot, and Phil’s vocals can be clearly understood down to every word. Actually, in the first half, there was poor contact in the left channel, so the stability was not good, but that gradually improved. It becomes stable in the middle “Emerald”, and in the second half after that you can enjoy plenty of superb sound with a direct feeling. The final performance of a set that is different from “KAISERSLAUTERN 1983” is depicted with such a direct sound. Speaking of the symbolic record of this period, it is the official “BBC RADIO ONE”, so let’s organize it while comparing.・Nightlife: Still in Love With You ・Fighting!!: Rosalie ・Jailbreak: Jailbreak/Emerald/Cowboy Song/The Boys Are Back in Town ・Live & Dangerous: Are You Ready/Baby Drives Me Crazy (★) ・Black Rose :Waiting for an Alibi・Thunder and Lightning/Baby Please Don’t Go *Note: Songs marked with “★” cannot be heard on the official version “BBC RADIO ONE LIVE IN CONCERT”. …and it looks like this. “Waiting for an Alibi,” “Baby Please Don’t Go,” “Cowboy Song,” and “Rosalie” were not heard on “KAISERSLAUTERN 1983,” but more than that, each song was a reminder of the fact that “this is the last time.” Rarely, every word the MC says carries the weight of history. In the middle of “Cowboy Song”, Phil’s excitement gets very exciting, and “Baby Drives Me Crazy” is a magnificent singalong conducted by the bass. Phil yelled, “The Best audience in Germany, fuckin world, universe!!”, but in the middle of the audience seats. The pleasure of standing and “being present on a historic night” is truly the real pleasure only for the best audience. Despite their efforts, the poor contact in the first half was disappointing. A direct new excavation where you can feel THIN LIZZY and Phil Lynott in their final passionate performance right in front of you. Newly discovered audience recording of the final performance “September 4, 1983 Nuremberg”. This is a completely different recording from the previous one, and is a masterpiece created from the newly discovered 1st Gene Master. In the first half, the left channel is unstable, but in the second half after “Emerald” it becomes stable and transforms into a superb sound with a great direct feeling. Each song carries the weight of history, “This is the last time,” and the pleasure of standing in the middle of a roaring audience is truly the real thrill of being in the best audience. This is a new masterpiece that lets you feel THIN LIZZY right in front of you on a historic night. Zeppelinfeld, Nurnberg, Germany 4th September 1983 TRULY AMAZING/PERFECT SOUND (63:01) 1. Intro 2.
