Description

THE WHO in 1989 concluded the 1980s with their 25th anniversary “THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT TOUR”. Introducing an original recording that will be released for the first time all over the world, allowing you to experience the scene at its best. What is infused into this work is “Birmingham performance on October 9, 1989”. It is an exquisite audience recording that records the whole story. Speaking of “THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT TOUR”, the official live album “JOIN TOGETHER” is also left, but of course this work is a separate performance. First of all, let’s look back at the schedule at that time and check the position of the show.・June 21st – July 30th: North America #1 (24 performances) ・August 5th – September 3rd: North America #2 (16 performances) ・October 6th – 10th: UK #1 (Birmingham) 4 performances) ←★Coco★・October 23rd – November 2nd: UK #2 (London 6 performances) This is THE WHO in 1989. “JOIN TOGETHER” was an edited live album compiled from the North American leg, but this work was released in the home country of England. This was the third performance of “UK #1”. After that, they did not perform any concerts (except for some event appearances), and did not resume touring activities until 7 years later in 1996. This work is also a live album where you can experience a full show on the verge of entering a long hiatus. This work recorded at such a show is a valuable and exquisite audience recording. Our store offers original works by famous recording artists living in London (commonly known as “British masters”), and this work is not the latest one. In fact, it was recorded by a friend of the master. However, this person is not a free person, and from the clarity and stability of this work, it is clear that he is quite accustomed to recording. I don’t know if they received recording lessons from the masters or if they borrowed the equipment, but their individuality in achieving both reality and clarity is very similar. What is especially surprising is the direct feel of the core and the vividness of the details. Even though it’s direct, it doesn’t have the zero distance feeling of a soundboard, but the type where the air is so transparent that no sense of distance is created. If you listen to it with headphones, you can feel the sound of a hall, but this gives the bare core dynamism and shine. Combined with the mysteriously low audience noise, it is extremely easy to listen to, and yet it is also a famous recording with a delicious sense of reality that can only be achieved by a guest record. What is depicted in such clear sound is the full show of the 25th anniversary of returning to the home country. Speaking of this tour, “JOIN TOGETHER” is the symbol of this tour, and “TOMMY AND QUADROPHENIA LIVE” also has footage of the Los Angeles performance, but this work is completely different from the set. Here, let’s organize the set while comparing it with the two official works. 60’s/70’s ・My Generation: I’m a Man (★☆)/My Generation (★☆) ・A Quick One: Boris The Spider (★) ・Sell Out: I Can See for Miles/ Mary Ann With the Shaky Hands (★☆)・Tommy: Overture/It’s a Boy/1921/Amazing Journey/Sparks/The Acid Queen/Pinball Wizard/We’re Not Gonna Take It/See Me Feel Me・Who’s Next: Baba O’Riley (★) / Behind Blue Eyes / Won’t Get Fooled Again・Quadruple Personality: 5:15 / Love, Reign O’er Me・Who Are You: Trick Of The Light (☆) / Sister Disco (★☆) / Who Are You (★) ・Others: I Can’t Explain (★☆) / Substitute (★) / Pictures of Lily (★☆) / Magic Bus (★☆) / Join Together / Naked Eye (★☆) / Summertime Blues (★☆) 80’s・Face Dances: You Better You Bet・It’s Hard: Eminence Front (☆) ・Join Together: Face the Face/A Little Is Enough/Rough Boys *Note : Songs marked with “★” cannot be heard on the official “JOIN TOGETHER”. The songs marked with “☆” are songs that cannot be heard even in the Los Angeles performance pro shot recorded in “TOMMY AND QUADROPHENIA LIVE”. …and it looks like this. Due to the influence of the two official works, this tour has the image of reproducing “TOMMY”, but in reality, all songs were reproduced only in a few performances. Only the last “Royal Albert Hall 2 performances” were completely reproduced in the UK, and the Birmingham performance of this work is also a Greatest Hits one. There is an excerpt section of “TOMMY” (the second half of DISC 1), and it is full of a variety of famous songs that have been produced over a long career. Of course, there is a wide range of past hit songs, but also valuable songs such as “I’m a Man”, “Mary Ann With the Shaky Hands”, “Trick Of The Light” and “Pictures of Lily” are also performed. You can experience the best and fullest show of the culmination that is suitable for the 25th anniversary. “TOMMY” This is a shocking original recording that allows you to enjoy a variety of greatest hits with the best sound because it is freed from the complete reproduction. It’s hard to believe that such a recording had been hidden away without being traded for over 30 years. How many hidden treasures are still hidden in the world? This is the world’s first live album that will make you feel that excitement. An exquisite audience recording of the “Birmingham performance on October 9, 1989” that will appear for the first time in the world. This is an original recording only for this work, digitized directly from the original cassette. What is especially surprising is the direct feeling of the core and the vividness of the details. The atmosphere is so transparent that there is no sense of distance, and the sound of the hall gives dynamism to the bare core, giving it a lustrous shine. This is a 3-disc set of 2 hours, 52 minutes, and 22 seconds, where you can enjoy plenty of valuable songs that can’t be heard on the official “JOIN TOGETHER” or “TOMMY AND QUADROPHENIA LIVE.” Recorded from the recorder’s master tape. This is the world’s first appearance of the finest sound source. National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, UK 9th October 1989 TRULY PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1 (79:02) 1. Intro Tape 2.
