Description

From the European/North American/South American tour accompanying the release of the fourth album “Ghost in the Machine”, the performance in New Haven, Connecticut, North America, on January 23, 1982, is completely recorded in an ultra-high quality audience recording. This sound source was known only among enthusiasts, but it had never been released as a bootleg until now. Furthermore, there are two sound sources of the New Haven performance, both of which are recorded in high quality, but this time we are using a sound source with particularly excellent sound quality and a long recording time. The obvious difference is that “Message In A Bottle” has no gaps between songs. Also, the missing “So Lonely” part (3:49 – 4:04) has been patched from another high-quality sound source so that it does not feel out of place. What is noteworthy is the sound quality. A wonderfully spacious recording. Perfect sound pressure, sufficient balance between each part, and a clear sense of realism. You will be overwhelmed by the fact that you can feel such an expansive atmosphere. The reaction from the audience is also good, further heightening the sense of realism. I would like you to listen to this at high volume to experience this sense of realism that you can never experience with line recording. The atmosphere in the listening room changes in an instant. The album “Ghost in the Machine” is the predecessor to the masterpiece “Synchronicity”, and has a different tendency from the previous three albums, and was produced with a new approach (Sting himself also plays a little saxophone), and was produced by the talented Hugh.・An excellent work that established a new police sound with more intelligence and depth through Pajam. A brass section was introduced for the first time in the live performance, adding punch to the new police sound. As fans may have known, compared to other tours, the Ghost in the Machine Tour has extremely few released sound sources, and even if it is a complete recording with the best sound source, it is almost impossible. In the midst of all this, this release will feel like unearthing a buried diamond for fans. The New Haven performance is the 31st performance of the entire Ghost in the Machine tour (100 performances), and it will be around 30% of the time, but the day before (22nd) was the New York MSG performance. Since it was a live performance at New Haven, the next day’s live show at New Haven was even more successful due to the confidence and relaxed feeling that he achieved, and he delivered one of his best performances. Show off your perfect performance. In fact, Sting was the MC and talked about MSG from the previous day, wore a New York Rangers ice hockey shirt as his stage costume, and asked the audience, “Is there a problem with wearing this shirt?” (You can check the images taken on the day in the artwork inside the package.) The entire show was played with the effects of the brass section, including songs from the album “Ghost in the Machine” as well as “When The World Is Running Down,” You Make The Best Of What’s Still Around”, “The Bed’s Too Big Without You”, “De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da”, “Roxanne” have a freshness that can only be heard here, and “Spirits In The In songs such as “Material World”, “Hungry For You”, and “Demolition Man”, Stewart Copeland’s shout that signals the start to the members instantly creates a tense atmosphere and delivers a thrilling performance. In particular, in “Demolition Man”, Andy Summers plays the guitar a lot, and the performance is full of tension and is a perfect score. What’s more, the final encore song is “So Lonely”, and the Police will be playing this popular live song on tour, and it’s definitely a great performance that can be declared one of the best. In the second half of the song, Sting praises the city of New Haven, a moving moment that elicits applause from the audience. The Ghost in the Machine tour found a new police sound that would become the foundation for developing their masterpiece “Synchronicity”, and you could feel the energetic energy of moving forward. Among them, it is a miraculous document release at New Haven, where the band performance, sound quality, and audience are all in one place.
