This is the fourth album (fifth overall) from ECM by Rypdal, one of the world’s most renowned guitarists from Oslo, Norway. It was the first time that he has been awarded two Grammys, Artist of the Year and Deutsche Record Awards. This is Rypdal’s first double album and his first group, named after himself, “Odyssey.” This rare live recording from his appearance at the Molde Jazz Festival in Norway in July 1975 was recorded one month before the recording of “Odyssey,” his first major double album and his first group. This recording has been carefully remastered by the label and is now available for the first time on a high-quality soundboard!
