This album compiles rare sessions and live recordings from 1974 to the following year, before their record debut, from well-preserved soundboard masters. First, there is a demo from the legendary recording session with Brian Eno. The studio take from when Richard Hell was still in the band has an interesting punk feel compared to their later works, so it makes sense that Verline decided not to make an album because he felt the time was not yet right. Also included is a studio take of the unreleased track “Double Exposure,” which is a familiar live track. Then there is a live track from CBGB in NY in 1975, and a recording session from the time of Original Television, before the release of their first album, after Richard Hell left the band and Fred Sonic Smith joined. This is a high-quality direct line recording, and highlights include the raw outtake of “Little Johnny Jewel,” the unreleased track “Hard On Love,” and the studio version of the live staple “Fire Engine” by 13th Floor Elevators.
