Previously, the 1974 rehearsal recordings, previously only available with rough footage, are now available in an upgraded edition with improved sound quality and more tracks! Also included is an extremely rare 1975 rehearsal recording! Television, with Richard Hell still in the band in 1974, enjoyed a favorable deal: Terry Ork (Ork Records), who was working for Andy Warhol at the time, opened up his loft for the band as rehearsal space and provided all the necessary equipment. This early rehearsal recording is now available in an upgraded edition with improved sound quality and more tracks! Previously, this recording was distributed with black-and-white footage as “ORK LOFT VIDEOTAPE.” The source material used here clearly outperforms the original footage, featuring a significantly longer recording time and a low-frequency output. While the recording is a rough mono air recording, the black-and-white footage was noisy and almost completely devoid of bass, while the new recording is so clear that it’s immediately recognizable as a different source. Disc 1 features complete takes, including what appears to be one of the band’s earliest performances of “Marquee Moon,” as well as “I Don’t Care,” “I’m Gonna Find You,” and “Fuck Rock and Roll,” which were not included on the Brian Eno-produced demos from the same period. Disc 2 features a guitar-only instrumental, a full take of “Poor Circulation,” and an early prototype version of “The Set Up,” which would later become Friction. Additionally, newly discovered recordings include a mono air recording of a rehearsal held in Terry Oluk’s loft in 1975, after Richard Hell’s departure!
