Description

TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND, the strongest live act of today, has come to Japan for the fifth time. The original recording that will be the fastest report is now available. This work was recorded at “June 11, 2019: Amasin Archaic Hall” performance. This is a masterpiece audience recording. This is the first report, but there will likely be more reports in the future, so let’s first check the show’s position within the schedule.・June 11th: Amashin Archaic Hall [This work] ・June 12th: Zepp Nagoya ・June 14th: Tokyo Dome City Hall ・June 15th: Tokyo Dome City Hall ・June 16th: Tokyo Dome City Hall There are 5 performances in total. This was the fifth time the event had been held, and it was also the record for the most performances, along with 2014. The Amagasaki performance of this work is the first day of the concert. Well, this is the first such work, and the quality is excellent. This is the original master of this work that was given to us by the recording artist himself, but it is a truly neat and beautiful recording. It also breathes a sense of air, and it is not the type that can be mistaken for a sound board, but that is not a drawback but a virtue. Of course, if it becomes blurry due to the sound of the hall, there will be no original or child, but this work is different. The strong and thick core reaches straight, and the details are clearly visible. On top of that, the faint ringing that rises like an aura creates a sense of depth, giving the beat a powerful feel and the melody an indescribable sexiness and luster. Its beauty extends to the breath of the audience. The enthusiasm at the scene is also accurately recorded, but there are no close cheers or strange voices. In between songs, the applause erupts, but it feels strangely far away and wide. What’s more, the clarity is so clear that you can feel every single beat of applause in the distance, giving the sound a sense of perspective and giving you the three-dimensional effect of a sea of undulating applause. It is a masterpiece recording that allows you to fully enjoy the extremely thick performance and singing voice, and at the same time allows you to enjoy the beauty and scale of the audience. The show drawn with such a sound is the splendor that proves the “strongest live act”. As a band that flexibly changes their sets and entertains with a wide variety of covers, every show will have a different set list. Other bands might have at least one “must-have” song, but there wasn’t a single song that was always played throughout the five performances. And speaking of the first day’s set… ●REVELATOR・Midnight In Harlem, Bound For Glory ●MADE UP MIND・Part Of Me ●LET ME GET BY・Don’t Know What It Means, Laugh About It, I Want More ● SIGNS/HIGH & MIGHTY・Shame, Hard Case, High & Mighty ●Cover・The Letter (THE BOX TOPS), Down In The Flood (Bob Dylan), Somebody Pick Up My Pieces (Willie Nelson), Get Out Of My Life, Woman (Lee Dorsey), How Blue Can You Get? (Johnny Moore) *Original artists are in parentheses…and so on. “High & Mighty” was recorded during the “SIGNS” session, but was not included in the album and was released as a single. The cover is a selection close to the first day in Tokyo, and “How Blue Can You Get?” is a standard familiar to JOHNNY MOORE’S THREE BLAZERS… or rather, B.B. King. Performing on such a set was such a passionate performance that my fists hurt and I was breathless. The new lineup includes Gabe Dixon in place of Kofi Barbridge, who suddenly passed away, and Brandon Boone on bass, but the ensemble is as strong as if they were born and raised together. Of course, Derek’s slide is full of sex appeal and cries, and Susan’s singing voice is also deep and mellow. From the first day, they exude plenty of groove and flavor, showing off the awesomeness of live performance, which is said to be the “strongest”. Nine years have passed since Fuji Rock’s first visit to Japan in 2010, and TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND has slowly gained support here in Japan. This is a masterpiece of a live album that allows you to experience their latest Japan tour as soon as possible. A two-disc set that is the first report and a masterpiece.
