Description

Perhaps because of his mysterious image or his own personality, Ritchie Blackmore has very few guest co-stars. A valuable soundboard recording in which he jumped on stage at THE SWEET will be released. What is recorded in this work is two stereo sound board recordings. “Detroit performance on February 27, 1976 (1 song)” and “Santa Monica performance on March 24, 1976 (2 songs).” The former is THE SWEEET’s regular performance, but Richie jumps in and participates in the latter. They co-starred in FREE’s “All Right Now.” At the time, Richie was finishing up “RISING,” but there was still a long way to go before it was released, and he was currently preparing for the upcoming North American tour. It is not clear why he jumped onto THE SWEET’s stage, but his motivation is clear. In fact, FREE’s guitarist Paul Kossoff suddenly passed away on March 19, 1976, five days before they performed together. I stood on THE SWEET stage to commemorate that moment. As mentioned above, Ritchie has very few guest appearances, and his main appearances were THE NICE in March 1970 (co-starring with Keith Emerson!), GILLAN in December 1978, and JACKIE LYNTON BAND in March 1987. , and 1976’s THE SWEET (this work)…there are almost too many. Since it is such a precious opportunity, most of the sound recordings are audience recordings, but this work is a stereo sound board. It is also an extremely vivid and exquisite item. As for the uniqueness of the sound, it’s directly connected to the mix console, so it doesn’t feel like it’s official, but that’s not a drawback, it’s an advantage. In any case, the super vivid performance sound with the core and details exposed is poured directly into your skull, giving you a sense of synchronization as if there were speakers in your brain. Moreover, it is irresistible because the owner of such a direct sound is Ritchie Blackmore, who has just formed RAINBOW. It was a time when he was already burning with desire and ambition, and in this work he was so motivated that he even went out of his way to jump in (something he wouldn’t normally do). Stretching out the simple “All Right Now” to about 6 minutes, he plays a solo that entrusts the length of his feelings for Kossoff to the guitar while interacting with THE SWEET’s Andy Scott. The other two songs of THE SWEET are also wonderful, but it is all about “All Right Now” played by Richie. It is a piece where you can enjoy Ritchie’s jump performance, which is historically valuable, on an exquisite sound board.
