Description

Supertramp’s first and only performance in Japan was held on May 28th and 29th in Nakano Sun Plaza in 1976, but in between, about 50 minutes of live footage from the “Young Music Show” was filmed and broadcast at a certain national broadcasting studio (the actual broadcast was on August 28th). Fans were invited to the studio, and you can enjoy the wonderful live studio performance in front of a small audience with high-quality multi-camera professional shot footage. The advanced performance, which makes full use of twin keyboards and complex chorus and band ensembles, is a great listen, and you can enjoy the set centered around the numbers “CRIME OF THE CENTURY” and “CRISIS? WHAT CRISIS?”. The many mannequins set up in the studio also match the image of Supertramp’s sound and add to the unique atmosphere. You can see precious Japanese bilingual subtitles in Poor Boy, Rudy, and Crime Of The Century. The original sound and music, which mixes a variety of musical styles including progressive rock, pop, and AOR, is very stimulating, and it must have had a considerable impact on people who watched the TV broadcast in real time at the time without any prior knowledge. The final song, Crime Of The Century, builds up with the album jacket image, and the enthusiasm and aesthetic sense of the producers are clearly felt, making this a very excellent rock video work.
