Description

STRYPER just recently successfully completed their performance in Japan. The super best live album has already appeared. Emergency release has been decided! This work includes the “February 9, 2019: Club Citta Kawasaki” performance. It is the best audience recording with that super. This visit to Japan will be limited to two performances in Kawasaki. This week, two titles of live albums from those two performances will be released simultaneously. This work is the first edition. You can already re-experience the live performance that was held 3 days before this commentary was released! And it’s not just the fastest release. This work was recorded by Mr. “Western Japan’s Strongest Taper”, who is well known at our store. As his name suggests, he is a master who represents Western Japan, but recently he has been frequently traveling to Kanto performances. In particular, Club Citta Kawasaki has many limited performances, so many titles have already been conquered. Even in this work, the amazing work that is said to be “No one can beat HR / HM” is in full swing. In fact, this work goes “like a soundboard” on the ground. There is no sense of distance at all, and the loud cheers feel far away from the sounds of the performance and singing. It feels super direct. The guitar distortion is so delicate that you can see the waveform, and the drums are so clear that you can feel the vibrations of the skin. If it is published online without saying anything, it is a transcendent sound that will definitely be traded as a soundboard. Although it is a shocking quality that cannot be praised enough, the content of the show is what is important for this STRYPER. Let’s just remember, “It’s just a really crazy sound,” and move on. Yes, the set at this show was amazing. Both performances have very different concepts. Here, let’s check the contents of this work, which is the first day. ・SET 1: Complete reproduction of “LIVE IN JAPAN” ・SET 2: GREATEST HITS & FAN FAVORITES [Disc 1: Part 1 reviving the first visit to Japan] The above consists of two parts. The theme of the first part is the legendary first visit to Japan in 1985. It is a complete reproduction of the video work “LIVE IN JAPAN” produced at that time. Although this video has not been officially digitized (you can enjoy it in the highest quality on “LIVE IN JAPAN”), the set is an early concentrated reduction. 5 out of 6 songs from their debut EP “THE YELLOW AND BLACK ATTACK” will be played, and 6 songs from their first full-length album “SOLDIERS UNDER COMMAND” will be played. Moreover, the secret is that it is not just the best of the early repertoire, but a reenactment of the first visit to Japan. Of course, it is a set that will bring tears to your eyes for those who have experienced their first visit to Japan, but the flow of the completed show is also exquisite for everyone else. It runs through the scene at a rapid pace, with slow and slow movements clearly depicted, making the approximately 50-minute set feel like it’s gone by in the blink of an eye. What’s more, the degree of reproduction is high, and even the arrangement is exactly as it was at the time. In “Makes Me Wanna Sing”, Michael Sweet sang with a hand microphone without a guitar, but even such trivial points are precisely reproduced. Moreover, the performance is reminiscent of those days. Oz Fox, who was the reason for the postponement of his visit to Japan, has recovered safely, and Michael’s singing voice is undiminished. Robert Sweet is even better than he was then. Normally, a concert that recreates something from several decades ago requires mental correction, but with STRYPER, there is no need for it at all. The most wild and heavy metallic days just before the blockbuster hit “TO HELL WITH THE DEVIL” are vividly revived. [Disc 2: Part 2 of the best songs with a twist] The second part, which follows the reenactment of the first visit to Japan, is “GREATEST HITS & FAN FAVORITES”. Actually, they performed a greatest hits set last time in 2016 (you can also enjoy it at our store’s “JAPAN TOUR 2016 (Shades 644)”), but this time it’s something similar but different. There are three main sections: “TO HELL WITH THE DEVIL,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the latest work, “GOD DAMN EVIL,” and in between, representative songs from each era such as “Yahweh” and “Lady” connect. And, the “GOD DAMN EVIL” number and “I.G.W.T.” are songs that were not played even in 2016. This configuration feels really nice. Strictly speaking, it is not in chronological order but in a mixed regular concert format, but as a whole it runs through history with the first part condensing the very early days. Also, the new songs “The Valley”, “God Damn Evil” and “Sorry” that were performed for the first time are wonderful, and we are reminded once again that they have always continued to write good songs. STRYPER once again made us excited with their conceptual set list. This is the first of a sister series in which all two performances will be released at the same time. Although the thorough concept will be left to the second day, it is the first day that will give you a fresher feel of STRYPER’s current state. This is a 2-disc set that completely records the whole story, from the opening announcement to the closing announcement.
