Description
A treasured recording of a Portsmouth performance from the last 1990 UK tour before Hugh left the band, recorded in good stereo audience recording! A treasured recording of a live performance at Brixton Academy in London on February 24th from the 1990 UK tour held at the time of the release of the 10th album “10”, which was the last album while Hugh Cornwell was enrolled, has appeared! It has been digitally transferred from a low-generation cassette, and although the first 11 songs on Disc 1 have a narrow range, each part is well-balanced, and from the 12th song onwards the range is wider and the sound quality is better. In addition, the deviation of the positioning caused by the master has been carefully corrected. It is a pity that the intro of the opening number “Shah Shah A Go Go” and the first half of “School Mam” are missing due to tape changes, but the rest are recorded in full. Was it cut as a single? The setlist featured five songs from the album “10”, including covers of “96 Tears” and “Sweet Smell Of Success” by The Mysterians, and the horn section was added as support members, just like on the album, and the performance was powerful and fulfilling, making it hard to believe that Hugh would leave the band in August. Also, don’t miss the chance to hear The Raven, which was not played on the same label’s previously released “PORTSMOUTH GUIDHALL 90” recording of the Portsmouth performance in March of the same year.
