Description

In 1983, SRV attracted attention by co-starring with David Bowie and shocked the world with their masterpiece “TEXAS FLOOD”. The super best stereo sound board album is now available. What is included in this work is the transcendental stereo soundboard recording of “October 20, 1983 Philadelphia Performance”. Speaking of SRV at the time, they even rehearsed to participate in Bowie’s “SERIOUS MOONLIGHT TOUR”, but in the end they turned to solo. They embarked on a world tour with their official masterpiece “TEXAS FLOOD” in tow. First of all, let’s look back at those days and check the position of the show. ●1983《April 26th + 27th: Rehearsal with Bowie》《“TEXAS FLOOD” released on June 13th》・June 22nd-August 23rd: North America #1 (41 performances)・August 27th- September 9th: Europe (7 performances) September 14th – November 7th: North America #2 (39 performances) ←★Coco★ November 20th – December 4th: North America #3 (12 performances)・December 27th-31st: North America #4 (5 performances) ●1984《January production of “COULDN’T STAND THE WEATHER”》・February 4th-18th: North America #5 (11 performances)・2 March 25th: Honolulu performance This is the whole picture of “TEXAS FLOOD WORLD TOUR 1983-1984”. There are 7 performances in Europe, so it’s a “world” tour, but most of them are in North America. The Philadelphia performance of this work was the 26th concert of “North America #2” after returning from Europe. This show is also known for being broadcast on the radio, and has spawned a number of FM soundboards since ancient times. This work is not a remastered reissue of such a classic. It is a top-quality board that has been talked about as “updating the highest quality!” with a new master that was recently discovered. What’s more, it was the prestigious “Krw_co” that was discovered. It is woken up by the DAT master of the famous program “KING BISCUIT FLOWER HOUR”, and the quality is the best with “super”. Although the previous releases were “official grade” without any questions asked, they are flat compared to this work. No, the trio ensemble in the previous releases was intertwined with a three-dimensional effect, but in this work, the three-dimensional feeling resides in the single guitar note itself. A sweet tone rises from sharp picking, and disappears after an exquisite vibrato. It has a three-dimensional feel where the core approaches you and the sound falls off smoothly. Of course, the guitar is just one example. Tommy Shannon’s well-undulating bass also has a three-dimensional vibe, and Chris Layton’s dynamism is the best ever. If the previous releases are “official grade”, this work has a super exquisite sound world that can only be called “official masterpiece grade”. In fact, the “KING BISCUIT FLOWER HOUR” broadcast version cannot be said to be the longest because “So Excited” is not included, but the sound is truly on par with the official masterpieces. The show depicted with that sound is the essence of SRV that was shaking the world. Speaking of live performances from the trio era, “LIVE AT CARNEGIE HALL” also comes to mind, but it is very different from that, and only three songs “Testify”, “Pride And Joy” and “Love Struck Baby” overlap. There are also many delicious covers such as Buddy Guy’s “Mary Had A Little Lamb” and Jimmy Reed’s famous “Tin Pan Alley”, but the most distinctive one is Jimi Hen. They performed not only “Voodoo Chile”, which will be included in “COULDN’T STAND THE WEATHER”, but also “Little Wing” and “3rd Stone From The Sun”. It is a hot show that shows more respect for Jimi than usual. The approximately 45-minute broadcast time frame is not long, but on the other hand, it is exactly the length of one LP. That is a great masterpiece comparable to “TEXAS FLOOD” and “COULDN’T STAND THE WEATHER”. This is a special live album packed with plenty of scorching and rich blues rock, the highest peak of the classic soundboard upgraded by a prestigious excavator.
