From the North American tour accompanying the release of his fifth solo album “CURED” released in 1981, a complete recording of the Agora performance in Cleveland, Ohio on October 20th was recorded on a stereo sound board from the FM broadcast master. This album “CURED” is the album with the strongest pop flavor, with a sound that makes you feel the influence of new wave and electric pop at the time. Although it is centered on Hackett, it follows the traditional route of Hackett, and can be said to be the culmination of his career to date. First of all, the opening song is “The Air Conditioned Nightmare” from “CURED”. After that, they performed four songs from “CURED”: “Funny Feeling”, “Picture Postcard”, and “Overnight Sleeper”. Then there’s “Ace Of Wands” from the first, “Every Day”, a GENESIS-like symphonic prog song from “SPECTRAL MORNINGS”, and the oriental mood “The Red Flower Of Tachai”, featuring the bass pedal of his brother John Hackett. The set list is full of variety, including “Tigermoth”. Also, in the middle acoustic set, they played “Horizons” from the GENESIS era and “Kim” from the second album. Then, in the second half, “Slogans”, which was the opening number on the previous “DEFCTOR” tour, features a drum solo, followed by the heavy “A Tower Struck Down” and “Please Don’t Touch” where Steve’s technique is fully demonstrated in a tense development. “The area is a good place to listen.
