Those who know about the Wynwood edition have probably already made up their minds, but for those who haven’t, I’ll repeat it again: “This is the audience!?” It’s a dimension that makes you wonder. Judging from the noisy atmosphere before the performance, it is definitely a guest record, but when the performance starts, the clear and active sound of the performance jumps into your ears. The sense of separation between each instrument is wonderful, and it’s hard to believe that it’s a large household of 12 people, and it’s beautifully proportioned. And if you listen carefully with headphones, you can pick up some faint venue sounds, but even that is an advantage rather than a drawback. The exquisite hall sound that does not give a sense of distance gently colors the powerful core, creating a sweet and melting shine. It feels like an official work that has been mixed precisely, but the echo feeling doesn’t feel artificial at all. It is a high quality recording that is precisely because it is a one-shot audience recording. The show drawn with that sound is also exquisite. The set is centered around his masterpiece “AJA”, but also covers everything from his debut work to “GAUCHO”. There were no songs after the restart, and covers such as “Cubano Chant”, “Keep That Same Old Feeling”, and “A Man Ain’t Supposed To Cry” were placed at key points in the show. It is truly a show that is a concentrated reduction of the golden age. The performances are wonderful, and the members are basically the same members who also participated in “EVERYTHING MUST GO.” Also on the keyboard are Jim Beard, who is known for his work with MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA, Mike Stern, Pat Metheny, Bill Evans, etc. The bassist is Freddie Washington, a master who has played with countless greats such as Herbie Hancock, B.B. King, Aaron Neville, Elton John, etc. Of course, it cannot replace Walter, but it still makes you listen to a wonderful ensemble that does not make you feel inadequate. Winwood performed “Pretzel Logic” with vocals and organ in the middle of the show, and Randall participated in the last two songs “Reelin’ In The Years” and “A Man Ain’t Supposed To Cry.” “Reelin’ In The Years”, which allows you to listen to the guitar unique to the originator, is also the best, but Winwood is still happy.
