Description
A massive 3-disc set has arrived, featuring nearly four hours of complete recordings of Steely Dan’s 1980 album “Gaucho,” their last album before their 10-year hiatus starting in 1981, including the legendary “second arrangement,” previously unreleased tracks, demos, alternate mixes, outtakes, and sessions—all in the best possible quality! This ultimate work, “Gaucho,” from 1980, was completed after overcoming numerous difficulties in an attempt to surpass the masterpiece “Aja,” and is said to have been so demanding that it forced Steely Dan to go on hiatus. This massive 3-disc set, featuring nearly four hours of complete recordings of demos, outtakes, and sessions, including many previously unreleased tracks, in the best possible quality, is now available for the first time! The album begins with a collection of demos featuring only Donald on keyboards and vocals, and Walter on bass. These include album tracks such as “Babylon Sisters,” as well as previously unreleased songs that didn’t make it onto the album, including the infamous “Second Arrangement,” “I Can’t Right Home About You,” “Talkin’ About My Home,” and “Klee Baba.” Listening to these, you can see that even though they are demos, the basic structure of the songs is already complete, and the only thing left to do is to add embellishments by incorporating different musicians. Furthermore, this explosive item has arrived, featuring nearly four hours of rare existing recordings, including previously released material as well as previously released material, all in the best possible ultra-high-quality sound! This includes an alternate instrumental take of “Gaucho,” three versions of “Second Arrangement,” rough mixes of “Glamour Profession,” “Time Out of Mind,” and “My Rival,” as well as different horn arrangements and various alternate mixes of album tracks, instrumental versions, and even sessions that allow you to experience the creation of precious songs.
