Description
Stealer attracted attention in Japan as the band that Yngwie Malmsteen, who rose to fame with Alcatraz, was a member of until just before joining. Although his tenure with the group was short and the number of live performances was small, the live performances had a considerable impact and laid the foundation for Yngwie’s next step. Moreover, this member only released one album, and Yngwie had already left the band by the time it was released. Disc 1 is a high-quality soundboard recording of the live performance that Stealer performed at a country club on the West Coast on April 28, 1983. The music is American hard, but the guitar style has already been established as Yngwie. In the guitar solo, Bach’s Boulet, which was noticed even at Alcatraz’s live performance, pops out. Also, “Victim Of The City” is the original song of “On The Run Again” which was later included in the solo album “Marching Out”. Stealer’s live sound sources have already been released on April 11th and May 7th of the same year, so this new sound source is noteworthy. After leaving Yngwie, leader Ron Keel, who disbanded Steeler some time later, changed his mind and formed a new band called Keel. Disc 2 includes Kiel’s live performance, which is not often seen in Japan, also recorded on a high-quality sound board. Although Yngwie’s super individuality is gone, the overall balance is well-balanced and the result is a pleasant American hard rock. Ron Keel’s vocals have also improved considerably since his Steeler days, and his sense of stability has increased. This is also recommended.
