Description

From the 2004 Italian tour, the Forli performance on February 2nd was recorded as an audience shot. The members are captured at a very stable angle, and the ideal footage that blends perfectly with the ultimate sound with a good balance and edge is worth watching from start to finish! This video is a recording of the Forli performance from the Italian tour that took place from January to February, but the live performances as Softworks (after the release of “The Land of Cockayne”, Soft Machine’s activities were suspended, and they resumed activities in 2002 under the name Softwork and released “Abracadabra”) are very rare, as they only had a few performances other than the 2003 Japan tour (3 performances), this Italian tour (5 performances), and the “Baja Prog Festival” (Mexico) in March 2004. Soft Machine is a band that has been active since the 1980s, with Elton Dean, Hugh Hopper, Allan Holdsworth, and John Marshall. The unique ensemble of these four is in a class of its own, and you can enjoy the entire 93 minutes without any waste! (In the latter half of 2004, the band was renamed Soft Machine Legacy, and Holdsworth was replaced by John Etheridge.) The set list is mainly composed of “Abracadabra,” but the highlights are Seven Formerly, which is based on Elton Deans Nine Sense’s “Seven For Lee,” and K-Licks, which is based on Hatfield & The North’s “Calyx.” Their exquisite chord progressions, beautiful voicing, and advanced solo work are impressive! A must-have item for fans that captures the very precious performance of the new Soft Machine with ideal shots has been newly released.
