Description
A collection of rare footage of Soft Machine’s all-pro shots from the 70s. First of all, there are two live videos from France in 1970. Wyatt, Hopper, Rutledge, Dean, plus Lynn Dobson. Avant-garde jazz rock is being developed. Next is a live performance in Montreux in 1974 (this was also released separately, but it will be collected together). You could say it’s a very cutting-edge fusion sound that includes Holdsworth. This is a rare footage of a play that was popular for a short period of time. Finally live in Newcastle, UK in 1976. With John Etheridge on guitar, he delivers a very sophisticated performance while inheriting the high-temperature fusion sound. Although their members have changed frequently and their sound has changed at a dizzying pace, you can feel that they were leading the music scene by a step or two, combining rock, jazz, and pop. I think it would be very interesting to listen to the comparisons of each era. The recording time will be 100 minutes.
