Description

SCORPIONS reached their breakthrough in 1982 with the famous album “BLACKOUT” and entered a golden age. A new excavation master who conveys the site is now available. This work includes “June 21, 1982 Harrisburg Performance”. This is the best audience recording. If you are sharp, you may have already hit the nail on the head. Same date/same title as RAINBOW’s “HARRISBURG 1982” and RIOT’s “HARRISBURG 1982″. In fact, on this day, SCORPIONS was the opening act for RAINBOW along with RIOT, and the same recorder recorded everything. In other words, the RAINBOW edition, this work, and the RIOT edition are three sister works that allow you to experience the day in its entirety. I would like you to enjoy all three works together, but this work alone is a great masterpiece by Scorpion. So, first of all, let’s check the show’s position on the tour schedule from SCORPIONS’ point of view. ●1982・March 1st – April 8th: Europe #1a (28 performances)《BLACKOUT” released on April 10th》・April 10th – May 23rd: Europe #1b (32 performances)・June 6th – September 13th: North America #1 (68 performances) ←★This work★ September 23rd – October 4th: Japan #1 (8 performances) October 16th + November 4th: North America #2 (2 performances) 1983, May 18-29 + July 30: North America #3 (5 performances), September 23: Japan #2 (1 performance), December 8-17 Japan: Europe #2 (4 performances) This is the overall picture of the “BLACKOUT TOUR” that made its heyday known to the world. The Harrisburg performance of this work was the 12th concert of “North America #1”, which was a highlight among them. This work that recorded such a show is truly the best audience recording. As mentioned in the explanation of RAINBOW edition “Black Box 029”, this work was recorded by a recording artist called “luvsufo” who is currently surprising and delighting enthusiasts all over the world. It has been digitized directly from that master collection, and it is just so fresh. Although it is not a close sound like a sound board, if the core is responsive enough, the slightly sucked hall sound will add luster and thickness rather than a sense of distance. Then, Rudolf Schenker’s sharp edge cuts through the middle, and Klaus Meine’s shout jumps into the palm of your hand with vivid detail. It is exactly the real sound unique to the audience. The show depicted with such a sound is a fiery HR utopia. The next “LOVE AT FIRST STING TOUR” was left in the official version “WORLD WIDE LIVE”, but this work is a similar and different show as its prototype. Now, let’s organize the set as well. ●TAKEN BY FORCE (1 song)・Songs that cannot be heard on WORLD WIDE LIVE: He’s A Woman She’s A Man ●LOVEDRIVE (5 songs)・Loving Sunday Morning/Coast to Coast/Another Piece Of Meat/Can’t Get Enough・WORLD Songs that cannot be heard on WIDE LIVE: Lovedrive ●ANIMAL MAGNETISM (3 songs)・Make It Real/The Zoo・Songs that cannot be heard on WORLD WIDE LIVE: Don’t Make No Promises ●BLACKOUT (4 songs)・Blackout/No One Like You /Can’t Live Without You/Dynamite…and so it goes like this. The duration is only about 1 hour as it is the opening act of RAINBOW, but it is packed with famous songs. In “WORLD WIDE LIVE”, songs from the Uri era were extinct, but in this work, “He’s A Woman She’s A Man” is played. In addition, “Lovedrive” and “Don’t Make No Promises”, which could not be heard on “WORLD WIDE LIVE”, were also performed. In particular, “Don’t Make No Promises” was only played until the beginning of “LOVE AT FIRST STING TOUR” and has not been revived to this day. You can enjoy rare songs that truly symbolize the scent of the 80’s with the best sound. After this, SCORPIONS made a further leap forward with “LOVE AT FIRST STING”, and their performances began to have a sense of greatness, and their shows began to feature “big classics + new songs”. This work is on the verge of solidifying that “standard”. They haven’t decided on a “standard” yet, and they are performing rare songs that can’t be expected today, and their performances are filled with the ambition of a “challenger” rather than a “champion.” A great performance on the undercard that has made a breakthrough and is said to be “half a step away from becoming the champion.” Live at City Island, Harrisburg, PA, USA 21st June 1982 PERFECT SOUND (57:45) 1.
