Description

This is the definitive live album from SCORPIONS’ 2010 world tour accompanying the release of “STING IN THE TAIL,” with two ultra-high quality sound sources. SCORPIONS performed a warm-up gig in Moscow, Russia on March 18th, and then began their full-scale 2010 tour with a performance in Ostrava, Czech Republic on April 22nd, and completed the first leg of their European tour with a performance in Recklinghausen, Germany on June 12th. After that, they moved to North America, performing 34 shows from their performance in Montreal, Canada on June 26th to their performance in Chicago, Illinois on August 21st, and then 12 shows on their South American tour from September 4th to 24th. The second leg of their European tour began with a performance in Istanbul, Turkey on October 2nd, and they performed 14 shows until the end of their European tour in Dortmund, Germany on November 27th. The enthusiasm of the band and the excitement of the audience at every live performance was amazing, and it was a real pity that they ended their band activities with this album. This work is a package of the performance in Patras, Greece on June 9th from this hot world tour with an official soundboard sound source, and the performance in Mannheim on November 12th with the ultimate sound quality that makes everyone wonder, “Is this really an audience recording!?” By packing the highlights of the first and second half of the tour, this title is literally the definitive 2010 tour that can cover most of the songs played at the live show! The performance in Patras, Greece recorded on discs 1 and 2 is the 19th performance of the first leg of the European tour. The line recording of this Patras performance recorded on the third day of the Greek tour is so perfect that it can be officially released as it is. Not to mention the rich and satisfying sound image of the vocals and instruments, everything from the atmosphere of the venue to the cheers is recorded in the best and exquisite balance, making it the best mix in every sense. The high quality and high quality live performance from the opening song “Sting In The Tail” is sure to impress all listeners, and the standard numbers such as “Make It Real”, “Tease Me Please Me” and “Big City Nights” will attract the ears and hearts of fans even more attractively. In addition, here are plenty of songs that were only played in the first half of the tour and were dropped from the set after the US tour, and each one is one of the highlights. In particular, the classic song “We’ll Burn The Sky” from the Uli Jon Roth era is a masterpiece, and it will be a point that will greatly satisfy the listeners as well as the excited audience. In addition, during ballad time, in addition to the classic song “Always Somewhere”, the new song “The Good Die Young” will also have a wonderful emotion that will fascinate all fans. In the second half of the live performance, the hard and catchy rock number “321”, which also showed its presence in the previous work “HUMANITY: HOUR I”, was played, and the tempo was also perfect. Before “Send Me An Angel”, Klaus gave a moving MC in memory of Ronnie James Dio, and before and after the song dedicated to Dio, a big “Dio call” and chorus erupted from the venue. This is a big listening point of the live performance. For about two hours until the show-end “Wind Of Change” and “Rock You Like A Hurricane”, the ultra-high quality stereo soundboard recording will invite the listeners to the SCORPIONS world. And on discs 3 and 4, the Mannheim performance on November 12, which is the 13th performance (and the first day of the second German tour) from the European leg 2nd after the US and South American tour, is completely recorded over two hours. Anyway, this sound source is characterized by the realization of a super perfect audience recording that surpasses any line recording, and it is recorded with a “miraculous level of super sound” without exaggeration. The previous Deep Purple German performances (“BLACK BLOOD” and “ROGERS BIRTHDAY PARTY 2010”) were also recorded with exceptional sound quality that stunned the listener, but to be honest, I feel that “I have never heard such high quality recording before”. (Hats off to the power of the recent German taper!) I don’t think there is anyone who feels that this is an audience recording after listening to the first song “Sting In The Tail”. Perhaps because of the superiority of the PA out sound, where the sound jumps out as one, you can experience the natural groove of the band more directly and realistically than with line recording. In a sense, it can be said that this is a sound source that allows you to enjoy SCORPIONS, whose essence is live performance, more than the Patras performance on discs 1 and 2! Although the basic set list structure is the same, the US tour switched to a “more 80’s” approach, and the impression of the live performance is different from the Patras performance even though it was the same year’s tour, so you can listen to the performance without getting bored. Unfortunately, “We’ll Burn The Sky” and “The Good Die Young” were dropped from the set, but instead, songs that were indispensable to them in the golden age of the ’80s, such as “Loving You Sunday Morning” and “Dynamite”, were set, providing a powerful band image that fans can imagine directly. In particular, the flow of “Bad Boys Running Wild”, “The Zoo”, and “Coast To Coast”, which are played in a cascading manner in the first half, is already overwhelming, and everyone in the audience will be knocked out! It is also worth listening to the refined flow of the live performance as the shows are repeated, and after a strong punch, a fresh melody will wrap the listener. The audience sings along to “The Best Is Yet To Come” from the new album, and the four superb ballads that follow, “Send Me An Angel”, “Holiday”, and “Wind Of Change”, are the true essence of SCORPIONS. (Only in Germany can you hear the German MC in the middle of the English MC.) This is unique to the recording.) But the more you listen to it, the more amazing Klaus’ vocals are. Not only the high range, but also his incomparably rich voice and control make you realize that he is still the best hard rock vocalist in the world. After James Kottak’s drum solo featuring past hits, “Blackout” starts with his shout of “Get Your Sting and Blackout!”, and the excitement of the live finally reaches its peak. Rudolf Schenker’s razor-like cutting seems to be getting more and more powerful and sharper than ever, and the play that literally pierces your ears is overwhelming. Even after listening to the entire album, the sound quality of this work is still unbelievable! Even though it is a recent recording, is this really an audience recording? Not only the sound quality but also the stability, visibility, and balance of the sound are all perfect, and the sound quality is unprecedented and simply amazing. I can’t remember hearing anything as good as this, even in recordings of Japanese performances. At the end of the show, “When The Smoke Is Going Down,” the final song of the masterpiece “BLACKOUT,” is played, cooling down the heated feelings and body, and closing with a faint and lingering emotion. What can we compare this emotion and boiling energy to? As SCORPIONS sing in their new song, it makes you think that “the best moment has yet to come”! In addition, this work continues with a nice bonus track. From the US tour of the same year, “Another Piece Of Meat” and “No One Like You” are additionally recorded from the Chicago performance on August 21, the final day. The former features Michael Schenker, and the latter features Carmine Appice, who participated as a drummer in the M.S.G. US tour that year, and both are must-listen takes for fans. Although it is a coupling of a soundboard recording and an audience recording, it is recorded with such high quality sound that it is difficult to tell the difference at a glance, so the sense of unity as a set is perfect. Both are recorded with official super sound, and it can be said that this is the 2010 version of the live masterpiece “WORLD WIDE LIVE” after Matthias joined! It is rare to see such a great title in SCORPIONS collector’s items in recent years.Pampeloponissiako Stadium, Patras, Greece 9th June 2010 STEREO SBD SAP Arena, Mannheim, Germany 12th November 2010 TRULY PERFECT SOUND Live at Pampeloponissiako Stadium, Patras, Greece 9th June 2010 Disc 1 1.
