Description

“UDO MUSIC FESTIVAL” is popular for its Jeff Beck and KISS DVDs. A pro shot of SANTANA who appeared at that legendary festival has been decided to be released. Of course, this film was filmed on July 22, 2006: Fuji Speedway Performance. This festival will be held over two days, “July 22nd” and “July 23rd”, and the performing artists will be switched between the Shizuoka venue and the Osaka venue. SANTANA appeared at Fuji Speedway on the same opening day as Jeff Beck. Speaking of SANTANA in 2006, it was a time when they had successive hits with the trilogy of “SUPERNATURAL”, “SHAMAN”, and “ALL THAT I AM”, and were touring all over the world. First, let’s check the show’s position from the schedule.・March 2nd: Los Angeles performance ・March 9th-21st: South America (6 performances) ・April 30th-July 18th: Europe (32 performances) ・July 22nd + 23rd: Japan (2 performances) )←★Coco★・July 27th-August 6th: North America #1 (9 performances)・September 15th-30th: North American #2 (12 performances) This is SANTANA in 2006. Seven years have passed since the astronomical success of “SUPERNATURAL”, and although the situation has calmed down a bit, “ALL THAT I AM” also reached number 2 in the US. In the aftermath, a large-scale world tour was held, and as part of that, they even visited Japan. “UDO MUSIC FESTIVAL” remains in legend as a record failure, but the festival itself is truly large-scale. The event was later broadcast on television by a certain commercial station, and masterpieces by various artists/bands were recorded. This work is the SANTANA edition. Its quality is excellent. Since it is mastered by a different recorder than the Jeff Beck / KISS edition, it is not the ultimate in terms of pixels, but that is because I have learned about the KISS edition and Jeff Beck. This work itself is definitely of the official grade (at that time), and you can fully enjoy “ALL THAT I AM TOUR” without any dubbing marks, deterioration, or noise. A show drawn with such quality is truly wonderful. There are many medleys, so I can’t analyze the set, but it’s very varied. I thought it would be a big release of “ALL THAT I AM”, but the new songs were limited to “Da Tu Amor”, and included numbers from debut albums “SANTANA” and “SANTANA III”, as well as “SUPERNATURAL” and “SHAMAN” from the Arista era. A wide selection from. “Into The Night” from “ULTIMATE SANTANA”, which had not yet been released at the time, was also performed. All nine members who have achieved the status of “ALL THAT I AM” participated, and Tommy Anthony also joined the lineup. Most of them have been carried over from “SHAMAN”, so it is ironclad. The SANTANA ensemble is big and dynamic, yet organically intertwined. Of course, the drummer is Dennis Chambers, one of the best, and you can enjoy plenty of his drum solos. This work is wonderful from beginning to end, but unfortunately it is not a complete recording. No, I have recorded everything that was broadcast, but unfortunately the highlight of the day, “Boogie Woman” co-starring Jeff Beck, has not been broadcast. I couldn’t get a professional shot of that wonderful guitar battle. However, you can enjoy the rest of SANTANA’s main story for about 80 minutes with official multi-camera professional shots. A masterpiece video perfect for the long autumn nights. Live at Fuji Speedway, Shizuoka, Japan 22nd June 2006 PRO-SHOT (79:01) 1. Intro 2. Jingo 3. Historia 4.
