Description
From the 1972 Euro tour just after the release of the masterpiece “Caravanserai”, the late show in Amsterdam, Netherlands on December 3rd was recorded for 1.5 hours from the recently unearthed soundboard master of the low generation. After the album was completed, Neal Schon and Gregg Rolie had already left the band, so this live performance was held shortly after the new lineup was formed. Incidentally, this large-scale world tour is also known for producing the famous “Lotus” album when they came to Japan in July of the following year, and this is a complete recording of the early part of that precious tour. The set is exactly the same as the early show on the same day that is already in circulation, and while the composition roughly follows “Lotus”, it is also worth listening to because more numbers from the recently released “Caravanserai” were selected. This is the best quality live performance of a hot show that can be said to be the prologue to “Lotus”, which began to have a stronger jazz/rock color and a more worldwide musicality.
